I didn't get to read them either But actually, the previous translation's chapter 8 might refer to 1.8 in the current translation. The author divided the story into eleven segments. Each segment has its own title, and there were several parts with its own title under every segment. Thus, we arbitrarily decided that the first segment will be "chapter 1", and the parts will be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and so on...
