*Glares at Fan Huiyao* Get your filthy paws off my cute Roulan!! Reading this reminds me of some comments I read when reading Da Tang. The author, Huang Yi said that people are shades of grey, none entirely black or white. The reason why we dislike the "virtuous" characters is because they aren't perfectly virtuous and usually willing to do some bad things to achieve what they want. We don't dislike the "villains" as much because they aren't pure evil either. But Fengyi Sect can literally eat poop. Parading as pure and clean while harboring malicious, self-glorifying thoughts.
That's especially the case for someone like Jiang Zhe. He's neither good nor bad, black nor white. It's become really hard to feel sympathy for the Fengyi Sect. It just seems that they'll do anything to fulfill their objectives, willing to be worse than the worst. Blasphemy, indeed! Poor Roulan probably doesn't know that she's the target of Fan Huiyao's machinations.

Daym. I must admit, the info dump was interesting and not at all boring, however, I really feel sorry for Xia Jinyi. He really has been through a lot, not less than Jiang Zhe. Li Shun once said that they are very similar. Who knew that they were THAT similar.

The biggest difference is their background. Because he entered the Kongtong Sect, Xia Jinyi has a martial background. Jiang Zhe, because of his education, is a scholar. Aside from that, Jiang Zhe is a scheming, manipulative genius. Revenge is a dish best served cold!
