In 18 years, he never managed to come up with a decent backstory, and just pissed off everyone who might care for him? And Mommy is only still with him 'cause she's unconditionally blind to anything other than how Wonderful her Precious Snowflake is??

i think they fear that riley's mother will try to kick them out, saying they are grandsons of the head of the assassin guild which they despise, or something along those lines.
and with that rileys father can just force him to do stuff which seems logical in their minds. he can hide, but he cant hide forever can he? since he cares for his mother and noone actually think they can lose to him.

 

Just hide in the shadows next to his mother for the rest of his life while pilfering food from the kitchens lol.

I just started reading the story and I'm a bit disappointed with the protagonist. The MC thought he worked the hardest and suffered the most? The farmer in his old world probably had to work even harder and suffered even worst than him to live day by day under the demon lord.

I'm not saying the MC didn't have it rough but the moment he just gave up on life and make things difficult for his loved ones, it's the moment he deserves to be taught a lesson. But alas since he's the OP MC, he'll have no repercussions for his inaction. Life is a constant struggle and the MC needs to be reminded of that badly.

 

Idk man, considering you getting saddled with saving the human realm from total destruction from the demons and humans. I would say thats alot of stress on your shoulders.

His companions dying left and right from fighting demons, humans, and politics.

Assassinations because people dont like you and your friends.

Fighting giant the size of a mountain.

I would say the farmer had it easier on every scale.

Literally the only thing the farmer would risk is being killed by anything a regular citizen in that world can be killed from on a daily basis. He would need to only worry about his farm and feeding his family. Demon wave attacks arent something he has control of and worrying about it doesnt do any good. So most likely they panic when it actually happens. Otherwise its a relatively safe occupation.

Now the hero and his companions actually have to throw themselves at deaths door whenever they have to fight.

Id say the hero has it harder just cause that a shitload of pressure, stress, and ptsd on his shoulders.

 

Told you what, I really hates their servants. Seriously, they just don't know their place at all, they don't have any sense of decorum what-so-ever.
