    He was the peak master? I thought he was just a disciple of that peak.

    The author had a chance encounter with Mo Bei who is a powerful demon. Mo Bei killed all of the other disciples so to survive the author literally hugged Mo Bei's thighs and offered to betray the sect for him. The author wrote Mo Bei as his (the author's) ideal man in terms of looks and manner, lol. Apparently he wrote LBH to appeal to the typical reader but LBH was not his type.

    This part wasn't clear in MTL so I'm no use either lol. All I know is that the author was sort of a grunt/mob character. And that the author did a lot of silly things to pander to his readers (to get more money) regardless of whether he was writing what he considered a masterpiece or not.

    For example, the author's description of LBH's tragic past is what happened when he tried to create something that would be cool/interesting to readers...

    @readerz Is right about the encounters and the author's design of mo and lbh. In the original novel, otlSQH was only able to become peak lord thanks to mo's help. he was a spy for the demons and was eventually killed by mo once he became useless since mo despises traitors more than anything.

    The original SQH (the author's char now, lol) was a mob character with very low IQ. According to the author all his mob chars have an IQ of 40 (moron level). Although these super dumb characters enrage the readers, the author considers it a win of sorts when the readers have violent reactions to the stupid mobs... :LOL:

    Now that the author is actually in the world's story he regrets a lot of stuff. For example, he hates that he made it low magic since high magic would be much more convenient. :love:

    I thought the IQ was low because the system set it in easy mode for SQQ.
    What's high and low magic?

    For example:

    When clothes have to be repaired
    Low magic - the author has to pick up needle and thread
    High magic - just magic up a new one or snap your fingers to repair it

    When a cultivator has to visit a town
    Low magic - they use horses and carriages
    High magic - teleport there

    When the author has to deliver some trade goods:
    Low magic - use muscle power to load them onto carts
    High magic - use power to float them into place

    High magic is like easy mode.

    It's not easy to see in MTL. The author of the novel likes to use 'show not tell' and SQQ's POV is of course oblivious. But LQQ's actions show that he does care and it happens throughout the novel (not much right now since they've only just patched up where I've translated so far). One of the extras really hints towards it strongly. SQQ and LQQ were on a mission down the mountain to exterminate spirits/demons. One of them was a fortuneteller. She gave this really vague (but hilariously accurate) prophesy for who SQQ's significant other would be like (cough, LBH, cough). SQQ was confused and didn't take it too seriously, but LQG was VERY interested because he thought it was talking about him. XDDD

    Edit: Oh, and SQQ only has eyes for LBH. It's something you really see later on in the novel when things escalate between SQQ and LBH. You start feeling sorry for the other poor sods...

    One time when SQQ woke up there were a bunch of people at his bedside.

    (paraphrased)
    SQQ asked Liu "what happened to Binghe?"
    Liu: Dead.
    SQQ is like "wtf" and tries to get up out of bed, only to fall back down.
    Everyone: Are you trying to kill him? *people screeching and yelling at Liu not to scare SQQ*
    SQQ: Bro, I specifically asked you first because I trust you the most and you lie to me?

    There's a lot of moments like that and it's up to the readers to figure out what it means. I mean, it doesn't say why Liu said Binghe was dead when he knew perfectly well that's he alive but we readers can speculate: 1.) cuz he hates LBH or 2.) cuz he hates LBH for being SQQ's lover and Liu is jealous...

    It's impossible to definitively say which one is true.
