For the fourth time this week, I fell asleep with 3-4 hours of work left and woke up hours later with no time to finish what I had to do. Any tips on how to throw a successful all-nighter or wake up from that 5 minute nap without it becoming a 5 hour nap?

    Coffee,soda, anything with sugar.
    Um, music that's up beat
Um find a music that's five minutes then sleep for the duration of that music. Music for the next playlist should be some thing really scary to jump scare you

i can take all-nighters but then I will sleep for at least 9 hours... just don't get bored and you can pull through the night fairly easy and have something to drink like orange juice

Coffee. A horror movie. Boku No Pico. Your favourite or worst song. Grab a novel like PMG . You are good to go. Personally, I will also add Bleach.

Coffee. Though, I don't even need coffee to do this anymore. I've already pretty much mastered this skill.
Also, don't sleep, then those 5 minutes have no way to become 5 hours. That's the whole point of it.

When i worked nights from 3pm till 5am i would constantly get up to drink a small glass of water and wash my face, also just working standing up and stretching.
i also drank black coffee with double the amount of coffee and double sugar/sugar replacement,
munching on carrot sticks cucumbers apples and other fruits and veg
    dark chocolate 70%+
    spicey snacks , sunflower seeds,
5min of exercise brakes every hour
those are the different tactics i used to survive that job for 4 years 200+ hours a month

    Instead of camping...

If you start getting comfortable in a position starting to fall asleep, then get up and uhh... I guess eat and drink some energy boosting stuff like coffee?

just imagine that if you fell asleep, you'll not able to finish that project which ends up in bad grades... you'll have problems finding a decent job cause of bad grades, gonna need to work more menial jobs to earn more money only barely managing to make ends meet.... you might have a life that will revolve around on earning more money but not able to save up

Psychologically, there is no way to pull off multiple all-nighters in a row.
When we sleep, there are several stages in our sleep in which our brainwaves fluctuate up and down, and by 90min mark, we usually enter REM-sleep. From this point, our sleeping state fluctuate up and down in such a way that we repeat light sleep and REM sleep multiple times throughout the night. This process is all automatic and uncontrollable.

According to empirical research and experiments, if we are woken up right before REM-sleep (in the experiment, the experimenters made people sleep, watched their brainwaves until REM-sleep, wake them up right away, put them back to sleep, and repeat the process through the night), we will be tired in the morning even if we had 10+ hours of non-REM sleep. Additionally, our body will literally force us to shut down if we are lacking REM-sleep, and make us sleep equivalent number of hours of REM-sleep we missed; this is more or less the definition of sleep disorder.

According to the above research, it is implied that it might be possible to pull off an all-nighter if we were to have previously slept longer hours of REM-sleep. However, there is limit to how much this could be done, and it is not very efficient as well as highly unhealthy (symptoms of sleep deprivation include weaker immune system, inability to focus, unhealthy heart rate, and may result in death).

On the other hand, as long as you maintain health number of continuous sleep (be it in the morning or at night), you should be able to function during the waking hours.

Prepare drinks, have a partner to talk to or listen to loud music. Those things tend to help.
