Yup! But it's probably Di Fuyi (he's the statue guy in the start of the story). He's well respected, super powerful, higher status than the emperor, and apparently, according to him and the MC's mothers bracelet, she's suppose to be his fiance (I think before she hit 15 or something(she's currently almost 15, she has to survive the dark forest in order for her to get their engagement annulled(?))), not the slag prince. He just didn't know that the MC's mother supposedly 'died' which was why he never showed up beforehand. Also, as of now, the MC doesn't look like she has any romantic feelings towards anyone.

 

Is the male lead the guy who was cultivating at the begging and is he the one she is with on the unicorn, the one that kept chasing after her when she was escaping

 

That's Di Fuyi and yeah, seeing how he's been constantly chasing her while molesting her makes me feel like he's the ML. Plus, it looks like he's feelings are slowly growing without him realizing it yet (once when he told the MC about them getting engaged, the MC tells him he should marry out of love but he didn't quite understand what she meant). Once when the MC was dreaming of Long Xi, he uses some ability to make her answer his questions, he asked her why won't she choose him? He's better than Long Xi, is stronger than him in martial arts, yet why doesn't she want to be with him?

When Long Xi successfully kidnapped her, he came to take her back. When the MC almost got engaged to the crown prince, he declared to everyone that the MC is his fiance (funny thing is as of now, the MC thinks he's gay for Long Xi so he wants to use her as a 'shield'). When he realized the MC was injured due to her father protecting GTC, he ordered the king to give out the decree to execute not only the GTQ and RY, but also GTC if caught.

Basically, when Gu Xietian (MC's father) first saw Luo Xinglan (MC's mother), he fell in love at first sight. He promised her he'd never be with any other woman. Then an incident happened, LXL ended up saving Leng Xiangyu (2nd wife) who was attacked by bandits. To let her recover, she let her stay at her home. Though GXT kept insisting that he only loves the MC's mother, he ends up sleeping with LXG (later on it was mentioned that she drugged him in order to make her enter through the door). By then, LXL's son Gu Tiannuo was already 5. When LXG gave birth to a son, she secretly deliberately had the news leaked into LXL's ears. LXL refused to let LXG through the door but GXT eventually gave in and let her into their home. LXL started to treat GXT coldly after this. As the result, he kept sleeping with LXG night after night. Years has passed and he already had 3 children. Eventually he ended up taking in more concubines in order to make LXL jealous! When LXG gave birth to Gu Tianqing (2nd sister), after finding out her daughter was a genius, she went to show her off in front of LXL resulting in LXL becoming enraged.

When GXT found out about this, he came and slapped her (LXL)! Though he regretted immediately, he didn't want to show weakness. As the result, he had her under house arrest. Years had passed and he barely even saw her, one time the emperor was having a banquet so they both showed up. The emperor heard about LXL jealous tendency's so he tried to give two dancers to GXT, he wanted to refuse but LXL accepted for him. When they got home, he was so mad he forced her to live in a smaller run down place with barely any maids, given barely any food, allowed his concubines to secretly bully her, and even forced himself on her! Months had passed, GTN wanted to see his mother but was unable to due to his father, in the end, he secretly sneaked his way through to see his mother, but what does he see? His mother suffering from malnutrition while also being pregnant! Once he found out, he went to his father and smashed his forehead on the floor till he was bleeding while begging his father to help his mother. This is when GXT finally finds out about LXL being pregnant with Gu Xijiu (orig!MC).

He then takes her to live in a better environment and to eat more healthier food, but regardless of this, when GXJ was born, she was born 5 months prematurely and was malnourished. She was as small as a mouse and often sick, it was said that she might not even make it. The emperor had wanted his son to marry LXL's daughter so he made a decree. Although LXL was no longer under house arrest, she was always surrounded by guards and maidservants. With a help of her brother(?) (GXT was extremely jealous towards him and wanted to have him killed), LXL ends up running away with GXJ. When GXT found out, he was able to catch up with her. When he saw her by the cliff, he gave her two options, to come back and he'll forget everything, or 2, he'll revoke her wife position and make her into a concubine (he only did this to scare her). LXL decided to go with the third option, jump off the cliff. Just as she was about to, when she heard GXJ cry, she couldn't allow having her to die with her, so she threw her onto a shore and jumped. GTN came right when this happened. In grief, he cut all ties with GXT and mistakenly ran away into the dark forest with no news of him ever returning... it was later found out that LXG sent people to have GTN lead into the dark forest. By the time the GXT found out about this, the MC had already killed LXG just moments ago.

He did all of these stupid things in order to make LXL jealous! In the end, the MC tells him to not even think about her mother anymore.

 

I didn't strated reading this novel but I already hate every character excluding MC

He's apparently a genius so if this is just like any other generic story then I doubt he's really dead. Right before the MC could kill him, the MC's father blocked her attack and injured her instead, afterwards, he fled and escaped. The decree about killing him on the spot happens a bit later.

 

I wonder if there's a CN female protag novel where the ML is disfigured at the start/something is wrong with the face (found one but BL). Wearing exotic masks while obviously very pretty doesn't count.

@vsukio could you go into detail about the clone thing and the fake saint? Is GXX the fake saint what happened here? Also any relation to the MC? I think they have the same surname.

 

The MC was basically a clone made to become a heart donor for the sake of Long Xi's fiance, Ye Hongfeng. But the thing is, she's not an exact replica. The reason for this is because if she had the same exact DNA as Ye Hongfeng, she'd also have the same heart disease as her, but overall, yeah, she was made just for this reason. Also, it seems that they originally wanted her to become an assassin (not sure why) and luckily, she became exactly that. Sadly for them, right after the MC killed Long Xi, she destroyed her own heart, therefore Ye Hongfeng had most likely died since she no longer has the heart replacement that she needs. This is also the reasons why she keeps thinking that LX had been trying to get close to her in this new world-- in order to revive Ye Hongfeng again (since the MC got the medical plant that he needs).

As for the MC and GXX having a relationship-- the most the MC can figure is that her face (GXX) looks 70% like her past life appearance, but other than that, there's no relationship that I could recall reading about, and yes, GXX is a fake saint. I forgot how exactly the MC found out but one of the reason was due to how she was examining the mark on her face. Some things she said didn't match with the MC's analysis, also, GXX's medical abilities were very mediocre according to the MC's standards. After being examined by her, she declared her as a fake saint and does a bet + competition with her in a public area. The first competition was like a questionnaire, with the help of the MC's bracelet, she was able to learn a lot about GXX's suppose never seen 'master', so when she started to ask her some questions about him, GXX's answered them wrongly. The other kind of questions she asked was related to the mark on her face of how it was formed.

The second competition involved their medical abilities. The MC never showed her medical abilities to anyone so people thought the MC was nothing but a waste. They were given a pair of sick mute twins, one boy one girl. They had some strange illness that no one was able to identify. GXX decided to treat the boy first by giving him a pill. In the start, he's complexion was improving, making her believe that she had cured him, but soon his complexion changed for the worst and he started to cough up blood. Not knowing what to do, the child's father(?) asks the MC for help instead and the MC did just that. In the end, the MC easily cured both the twins and identified what their illness was, thus, the competition ended with GXX losing and everyone seeing her as a faint saint. Afterwards, the drama relating to GTQ and RY's happened.
