it was for that reason that Jenna had a vision of the future, and her clan [tho short lived] also became his enemy
You have to remember that by that point his bloodline still affected his emotions even while using potions so maybe he wasn't the most rational there. But robbing people that you are able to while having a plan to escape seems like a scenario where he has lots to gain and nothing to lose.
You know I wonder, I've been re-reading the previous chapters and I've really come across a puzzling thing, at least twice as far as I've read MC checks out a watch, first time was a watch he took from one of the kids traveling to become acolytes after he beat up the guy who killed his host's previous soul and again when he reached the border town called Angler Town when he was moving to the Light Magi lands after the whole Bosain fiasco and getting to the schools hit-list. After noticing this I got to wonder, why has he not tasked the chip to just keep accurate time for him, I mean this does not seem like a function that would take any effort or waste any capacity so is there a point for him having to carry a watch around? I mean knowing time seems like a rather useful thing so why hasn't he gotten the AI Chip to just keep track of it? Is these small things that really bother me sometimes.....
Maybe he like having a watch ? It's like in this age, you don't really need a watch/timer/alarm-clock if you have a mobile phone, still a lot of people have a watch/timer/alarm clock
Oh snap 3 year time skip, with all the resources he has incoming due to his new servants, MC will probably be ripped as hell magically speaking probably the rank 2 equivalent of semi converted rank 1's, after all if he fixes up his foundation and strengthens it, with his bloodline bonus he will be totally OP among rank 2 plebeians.
As I've mentioned early, I've been rereading the story from the start and I've just gotten to the part where he ported to Twilight place, and I realized something, MC can fly! It was something that just flew right past my head on my previous readings but after stopping and checking back he clearly flew after Alistair and also when he was running from the rank 3 magus that was chasing him, but for the life in me I can't remember when he learned the spell to fly or have ever heard him use it when he is flying, I knew the spells existed and that even rank 1 magi could learn them even those below semi converted status but I never saw MC using it before he advanced to rank 2 he used Hawke the Wyvern to fly so wtf why did author never mentioned when he learned the spell and why does he never use incantation so fly. I figure he learned it when he gained access to the spirit thingy of the door from the Eternal River Secret Plane but it still bothers me that I've never heard him use the spell like he does when he uses Toxic Vile or the other shit.
I think it's like an inherent thing to level 2 magi. Like how saints naturally know how to fly in Coiling Dragon.
I think you are mistakenly using "ancient" where it should be "high level" instead. There is a lot more ancient stuff that is low leveled than high or top leveled. Because genuine high level only starts at level 4 magus.
Just noticed that MC when he was escorting the dukes daughter to her home he decided to go through some scary ass place just because he was curious, talk about rational mind choosing to go through the totally dangerous place which even most magi avoid just out of curiosity, you would think a rational person would research the place more before just going in there all willy nilly. This was after he had vented his warlock emotional instability after messing around with the knight student he taught in porter town or whatever it was.
A rank 1 mage had already made it through there safely. He was technically rank 2, numerous times more powerful than a rank 1. He hadn't run across any truly powerful creatures before that and was somewhat doubting the strength of the area. Also he was looking to check out some more magical areas and maybe get some benefits. I think he thought the benefits outweighed the seemingly negligible risks. I agree it was impulsive, but his emotions were effecting him enough that he was forced to stay in some random village at that time.
So is Leylin basically making fake Grandpa Doeherings and Yao Laos? The ultimate treasure of protagonists: Grandpa in a ring.
Leylin is so cold blooded and robotic so it gets extra funny when he starts to troll people That was hilarious
from the beginning of the novel till recent chapters, he was walking on thin ice, now that he went to a world where he hold advantage it's normal for him to relax
So he is using the ring to carry test, do you think that each ring has the sacred flame, or each ring has a different meditation technique ?
I think is only a ring not rings he mentioned items complementary to the ring both when he was reintroduced after the 3 year time skip and again when the AI from the ring told the acolyte about other items imbued with pieces of his soul. I think the items are just like a set and rather than give him more meditation techniques they will provide the AI from the ring with more knowledge which will help the guy advance, all the meanwhile MC watches on to see what effect the technique has now that he has completed it somewhat and fixed the most fatal flaws it had.
