I am surprised he didn't share the calming potion with the clan. Not only will it earn him lots of merit, but if the clan is calmer they are less likely to get into a war with a dangerous and powerful outside force (clan only has 3x rank4s while others have rank 5s and even rank 6s). And also they are less likely to cause him trouble via internal strife
Those rank 5s and 6s are probably not to numerous, also knowing that Warlocks have emotional instability they can sit back and watch the emotions run a bit, and then once they calm down get benefits from not acting.

No. The ice scorpion was what he used to remove the emotional instability from himself. He was still able to make a calming potion for himself when he was still in the south coast.
If I'm not wrong it has no effectiveness on rank 3+, that means that he need the icy scorpion cave, and he probably don't want to divulgue the existence.
The potion takes some inspiration from the icy caves and possibly uses some icy scorpion essence to make it effective for Rank 3, he himself has no use for it as he has cured his instability until higher ranks, as such he would rather return troublesome people to their senses than have it sit around.
as a warlock clan, you can assume that they have a better potion than him, like, what can a poor place have that a rich dont? no, he needs not, the scorpion thing was something limited to his own self, it doesnt mean that they will have the same effect in other ppl. the effectiveness is only rank 3-. did anyone kept track of his age? I was sure that he was around fifty, but last couple chapters said he was around 100.
If they don't have any good research on Icy type stuff then they might not have a potion as effective as he does, after all Freya was in a period of emotional instability.
she may have done it on purpose cause she is courting Leylin it was said that even if she is a rank 3 warlock of a noble bloodline, she cant just turn another warlock in a sheep dog, so she most likely will face some sort of punishment, but using the excuse of emotional instability she may escape it or get less penalty.
True, but it is a pointless risk with no rewards, and there are plenty of guilds with rank 4 magi who they could end up picking a fight with due to emotional instability. Yes, that is beneficial to non-warlocks. But why would leylin sabotage himself like that? this clan is very important support structure for him. And internal and external strife caused by emotional instability can only come back and cause him trouble. IIRC the ice scorpion gave him a permanent solution. His potion was made earlier and was a temporary solution.
You all seem to forget that three rank 4 warlocks can put up a fight against a rank 5. Warlocks, unlike the normal Magus route is capable of much better fighting power close quarters where most magus are weak. Also, it was mentioned that the calming potion given to Freya did indeed contain the breath of an Icy Scorpion. So he would indeed have a limited supply and even then. He wants the whole Icy caves for himself and might only divulge its existence if he is rank 5 and stands above the others. Because only at that point, does he have the power to protect its existence and gain all interests. But ye, this arc might indeed become the arc where one woman gets to experience a seeding from Leylin. Knowing Leylin's ability to make his semen infertile... I am sure he can make it shoot true as well *cough*
