I quit wayward earlier without dying. I was tempted to go near the dark shadow on the waters though. It seems Elona+ is an expansion. Try the vanilla first or read this blog.
No, no, you don't understand. The kraken chased me up onto the shore. I will try Elona+ but when I started Wayward I died a lot because I didn't know what I was doing but rather than having all the answers handed to me it was more fun, for me, to figure them out as I went along. It may seem dumb, but I remember when I first got into gaming and guides were rare, you either got your friends to help you or you figured it out yourself. It was frustrating sure but there was more a sense of doing something than when you just follow a guide.
lol It's the same thing with elona+. After the tutorial, you're on your own unless you read the wiki. For convenience, play it with a joystick. You might get overwhelmed at the beginning due to the statistics--too much skill, stats, attitude, personalty, etc. I don't remember too much about the game since it was more than a year I last played it though.
Okay, I've played the game to the point where I could kill a Time Skitter barehanded... what am I even doing with my life.....
