Websites like Novel Updates?

    Hi guys,

    Is novel updates the only website that tells us of translated light novel chapters or are there others? If so, are there translated light novels that even novel updates doesn't know of?

    Some translations ask to be removed from Novelupdates so yes there are novels that don't show up on NU.

    www.RoyalRoadL.com is kind of like NU. but it is more for generic writers/ self employeed ones.

    NU only knows about the light novels that it is told about, and at that typically only about the Japanese /Chinese/ Korean ones

    There's also wlnupdate which also include some original english novels

    That's only happened a scant few times, and for relatively unpopular translations to boot. @Tony would never agree to those requests if it actually affected Novel Updates or its users.


    Are there any that Novel Updates doesn't know about? If there are, why aren't you adding them?

    Moreover, what other site would know about them if Novel Updates doesn't?
    For the record, quite a few sites are directly taking their own lists from Novel Updates.

    It's true that NU is focused on east asian novels, though, so you might find sites that follow a broader scope or narrow in on other languages and origins. Not much I can say about that~

    Do you mean removed translations or copycats? .. Either way, you could PM @Tony and ask about them, if you're interested. I don't know them offhand. At least, none I'm willing to mention as far as the copycats go. Those are usually real aggregators. The bad kind.

    Wait, so if RWX suddenly says he doesn't want WW novels to show up on NU tony would just say NOPE and still show and update with their releases?

    Or what does "affected NU or it's users" mean?

    Of course I just thought of a hypothetical scenario and I doubt that would ever happen, but that phrasing as if it's not up to the TL sites whether or not they show up stood out to me...
