What happens to Qidian novels at QI after paywall?

Shouldn't you be calling a staff member instead, so we can get an official response? Although I'm sure this will be merged in some mega thread, since threads like this always pop up.

 

I think this is about the novels translator-san is translating. It's like, sell your soul to satan after getting involved with qidian.

 

If

The previous released chapter before the paywall started was still available to read for free, they stay as they are, the link to the chapter remains.

If ALL the chapters goes behind paywall, I believe NU will remove the links. NU are here to help us read free translations, not promoting Qidian for free.

.....unless Qidian buys this site, which I doubt will ever happen. Too expensive.

 

If the paywall happens (as it most likely will) and Qidian forces anyone translating their novels to join them they won't need a NU cause they'd already be targeting them next. Why do people need updates for their novels? They'll start making commercials an advertising themselves as the 1st official Chinese translation site for the millions of Chinese novels. There will likely be fancy graphics and displays.

NU will have to continue catering to WW, GT, Volare, and other novel sites not associated with Qidian. I've recently seen an English TL for a KR novel called Harun and it seems to be posted on a Korean blog NU might survive as its likely a spring board to catch attention but later who knows.

 

So sad, most of the fanbase will be forced to move on

Basically, this means that if NO ONE leaks any novels put of the great Wall, then fine. 'No money no story.' BUT if any one of the sections of the wall is weak and allows the Pirates to attack, then 'No money? No worry'.

 

The problem is: if those pirated novels appear on NU, Qidian will know who is doing that. We will need an underground system, hidden from the eyes of those greedy bastards. And hidden from spies. We need a new layer in the Deep Web just for pirated Qidian novels.
I'm half serious. I'm worried.

 

I'm also pretty sure NU has a policy against linking to pirated content. So there's little chance of that happening here anyways.

Alright, time to clarify a few things.

1) As a few people already said, anything and everything that is behind password protection and/or paywalls will not be added/remain on NU, they will all be removed.
2) NU does not link any sort of pirate site whatsoever, in fact, if you actually bothered to read the rules, you'd see that one of the things directly on the first section is:

Any thread made on NUF that is asking for pirated stuff gets locked on the spot, so no, NU will never link any sort of pirated content.

you can still go to the translators sites to read at a 24hr reduced pace. according to qidian the translators can still post on their own sites........unless qidian qidianed again and reneged on their agreement

 

Kinda beats the idea of making ppl pay if there's an alternative just 24 hrs late. I'm sure they'll prohibit then when it happens
