Discussion What made you use MTL cause you couldn't wait?

There are times where the cliff is too much so I end up using google or bing to translate the raw. I've done this with TDG and ATG so far. In one instance I ended up reading close to 10 chapters like this.

What novel made you do this?

 

I did MGA chapter 30 to chapter 250. Never again. mind you I used my basic knowledge in chinese to help .. but never again MTl.

Douluo Dalu all the way to the part where it gets ridiculous.
Douluo Dalu 2 all the way to when death enters the story.
Tales of Demon and Gods. Actually, I'm still MTLing it. I follow the story as the author uploads since the story is still ongoing. TDG is good MTL...
I Shall Seal The Heavens for about 10 chapters at a time when I get really, really, really bored. Don't try this, ISSTH is simply brain death. MTL of Er Gen's stuff is impossible.
Stellar Transformations for meh. Honestly, the MTL doesn't hype the story up as much as the TL. Weird.
Swallowed Star until it gets all Spacey. Then I dropped it. Boring IET story.
Against the Gods until the end of the tourny. Honestly, I stopped cause I couldn't handle the idea of rape scenes about to happen. NTR is not my genre... Oh, is there no rape? Doesn't matter cause the fricken author added rape tone to the story.
Martial God Asura till the second fricken rape scene. Hey, I tried to read it after he rapes the first time cause the author wrote it off as something the MC had to do. Then he had a second rape scene cause he though the MC deserved some action (my interpretation). MGA just plain sucks. Plus, I was getting bored of the repetition. He should take some notes from Er Gen and IET and TJSS.

I really want to read Skyfire Avenue MTL... I should try it. Tang Jia San Shao has quite easy-to-read MTLs.

Swallowed Star until the 2nd last book I think it was.
Against the Gods until Chapter 500.
Kumo ga until just before Turb0 caught up.

I've done sections of Japanese ones too here and there, it's a lot easier since I know some of the grammar.

Also, as far as Against the Gods, rape tones were there from nearly the first chapters. Both the aunt and his wife were threatened with it back then. Up to chapter 500 the closest thing is him and Little Fairy, which I didn't particularly like but at least half of shoujo manga seems the same

Kumi Desu Ga upto the part where they mention that she took over her mother.
ATG: around 500 chapters. I stopped after it started the MC did stuff I did not like.
MGA: 2100 chapters. Got bored of it by then.
BTTH: To the end.
Zhan Long: I badly wanted to know what was going to happen in the City of Ancients arc, ended up reading the entire arc.
Perfect World: Around 8-9 chapter ahead from how much has been currently translated.
Swallowed Star: The entire Australia arc, and the arc after it as well. Can't remember how many chapters.

I used a combination of MTL and my own basic knowledge of Chinese for these novels and quite a few other novels as well. I'm bad at handling cliffhangers.

 

I read TDG till around 250 then i have to force myself to stop as my exams were going to start

 

I try reading MTL, but I just couldn't get into it. No offense, but I just cannot read it with the mistranslation and confusing words. I either wait or find a slightly better version.

Tried some Korean novels but the mtl for them is 100x worse than CN.

 

I started MTLing because I wanted to translate a novel actually, but my Japanese was garbage tier.

... It's still kinda bad, but I don't need to rely exclusively on MTL anymore~

 

I never use it.
