The problem with the chickenpox is just because you regain your health does not mean that the cause is gone. Chicken pox is the initial reaction to the virus that causes it. Sometimes that virus can then lie dormant in the human body for decades before reactivating which causes another disease called shingles. Damn persistent little buggers....
Yep. Doomsday. yeah. Well the main book i was looking for with the kid who was brutalized so they could be OP as an adult. I still can't find that. But the superhero story version i remembered was from the excellent web serial Worm. its basically Naruto for superoheroes. aka. the MC is annoying but the world building and the side characters are spectacular.

Sorry still can't find the book i was looking for, but Worm has a super with this power. The MC controls bugs and is very annoying, but world building and side characters are amazing.

Yeah, but the whole betrayal/mole thing is so messed up. it's believable, it's well written, the ,author is gifted, but she isn't likable. When she was chewed out by that arrogant hero, every thing he said was right. It makes me side with the JerkAss against the Main character. She's like my least favorite character in the whole series. lol. I stopped reading after the villain dude took over the city. I just got tired of her.
