So I just saw 108 maidens of destiny got picked up and though I haven't read it yet it seems just from the title that it is going to be a harem. So that got me to wondering just how many is too many for a harem?
any more than 3 girls is too much. Sevens has a harem of fifteen girls? By the end of the story you could barely tell apart any of the women.
while you do have to consider things like financial feasibility or strength etc... having some sort of rotation ruins it. they are supposed to all be people you love, not some prostitute that only belongs to you. So, my answer is as many as you can keep track of, love, and care for without them becoming objects.
when the author fails to give each waifu sufficient personality and uniqueness to make her relevant and distinct in the story, theres definitely too many waifus or potential ones
I was initially hesitating wether to read Sevens or not, but thanks to you, I made up my mind. I'm definitely reading it.
Any harem is too large when any one of the harem member's personality, goals, backstory, and motivations is compromised for the sake of their relationship with the MC.
I believe the correct response here is: "git gud" I say quality over quantity. If the author can write a dozen fantastic romantic interests, have them all interested in multiamory, and make them believable, then go do that voodoo. If you can write that many great characters, you should be able to construct one hundred more to round out the rest of the story.
True, but could live without the harem. Code: url=https://dragcave.net/view/UafUk]
3 and no more It is too big when the author just possess them off as just things and prizes and not characters or when you know he has this girl in the Harem but you don't see her or she does squat for the next 100 chaps
