Who is your fave author for immortal/cultivation novels and what is your reason? (IET, TJSS, ErGen, etc)

    For example:
My fave author is Er Gen - Because every single one of his mc have an unique personality and theres alot of scenes that stir my feelings (sad, laugh, etc) in his novel.

Now... theres no good or bad in all opinion/answers.
This question only for readers knowledge about the authors trait in writing either the famous one or the less.

Er gen and Tjss. I really like Legend of the Dragon King, albeit the slow pace (chap 280ish and still two rings)

I don't really care about that, as long as the book is good enough for me then any random authors could become favorite.
So there's no need for a favorite one.

I love Er Gens works, even if the ending of a certain story wasn't all that satisfying, in all of his works there will be at least one arc that really gets me emotional and might cry or something because of it. Like the arc where Wang Lin pretends to be mortal in RI or when BX was a hero in his forced mission in AWE.

My favorite author is MAD SNAIL because he is a perfectionist. Even if some of his novel can't be finish yet because he's thinking hard how to progress and make it a great novel while not rushing it.

Tales of Demons and Gods should have been great (sighs, that monthly update). Oh well im just a leecher, can't complain.

Jin Yong, if you want to count wuxia, because I don't really xuanhuan. His novels seem to always have one element that leaves me thinking that he could have done it better, but they're still a cut above most other novels listed on NU.

Er gen because I actually enjoy his works for a while, while people like mad snail (I think) I lose interest in after a few hundred chapters
Also iet because coiling dragon was the first cultivation thing I ever read, but I hate how he gives mc a powerful treasure from the get go which is powerful and comprises most of the mcs strength at least for a while
And tjss sort of but I have mixed feelings

I basically only read chinese novels but I actually don't read many cultivation novels for a long time and tbh they all are kind of crap. (Though they can still be entertaining or just easy reads for killing time)

I liked ISSTH for the most part (though I've dropped it, no way I keep reading that 33 heavens arc) and Renegade Immortal is also pretty good, Wang Lin's personality is much more to my preference so that help as well.

Anyway, cultivation novels are just same shit over and over again and too often there's no point to even read as I already know what will happen.

I like Chen Dong's settings, but he tend to fuck it up and the actual plot/story is usually just as dumb as most of these novels (or even worse, I haven't read anything worse than world of immortals first 30 chapters or Shen Mu) so imo he's still very overrated.

Anyway, I'll second that I don't really care who wrote the novel and imo most of the novels are kind of garbage so I obviously don't any kind of 'favorite' author or anything of the sort...

theres a reason why i dont include wuxia in it. bc theres too few of wuxia novels at NU. and sadly, most of good wuxia author already passed away or too old for a new book. while most of xx and xh author are youths and still developing their skills.
now this is new. i dont read jp so often so idk him. mayb u can put a link for one of his good novel?

If it is just immortal/cultivation novels I guess it would be Jiu Lu Fei Xiang (so far), mostly because it is the only xianxia/xuanhuan author I can think of that I've managed to read a story to the end without regretting it, although that might partly be because of it being fairly short stories.
