Why does some people like brussel sprouts when there are other tolerable greens to provide nutrition?

Hmm I admit there are a lot of bad CNs, despite how everyone knows the story terrible, it's still being translated! So far I haven't really met a CN that I can call perfect or one I can truly say is my favorite.. But I do think there are few hidden gems even though they could be counted in two hands probably.
Besides JP translates on NU very rarely now and days, this site more based on CNs. It's sadder because there are only a few completed Cultivation novels on here and have wait for years... So what else can I read? Lol

You can say the same thing for almost any genre.
There are only 7 plots: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Seven_Basic_Plots
I can't stand romance novels now, although the first 2 or 3 I read were interesting.

So the Chinese method of paying authors to produce volume over quality has it's problems.
But it also has benefits. I like being able to sink my teeth into a new chapter every week.
Rather than having to wait years for a new book that is at most 500 pages.

Basically, I started reading them as a change from Western novels, so they kinda interesting then. Plus there wasn't much of anything else out then. They got boring and meh, but I want to find out the ending. Now I'm just interested in those few novels that are actually decent, the rest are filler that I can't bring myself to drop.

I used to read them because I had nothing else to do. I mean, at least they are better than about 90 percent of the japanese novels.
But nowadays I just read fanfics and original works. Granted, most of the stories I try end up being shit and I have to drop them but 1 or 2 in 10 are pretty good and make me remember why I love reading after all.

First of all, NOT EVERYONE likes cultivation stories. I myself am not a big fan of it. I do read some that interests me but most often skim past the descriptive parts. Everyone's entitled to their own thing so you have to respect that. Then, regarding the humor, remember that the stories here in NU are translated novels. Meaning that they were written for the audience from which country the author is from. Culture, history and the likes are all factors that determine the author's humor. We may or may not like it but it's not really up to us, is it?

So just go with the flow and enjoy reading what you want, drop whatever you don't and chill.

to me i like the cultivation novels because of the system, where a mortal human being can become gods, it just tingle my fancy
and how they overcome those boundaries thats why i like cultivation novels where the system is well balance like warlock of the magus world but to novels like ATG where the system is doesnt apply to mc (like how he can challenge 2 realms above him) makes me disappointed (like every lucky encounter empowers the mc enough to overcome those above him in levels like seriously is he only lucky person in that world? which itself cheapen the world) and i also like VMMorpg novels (my first novels is Legendary of Moonlight Sculptures which probably the reason i like systematic power ups)

the system is also a fresh air with the anime where theres no powerranking (the only powerranking i saw was fan made lol)

I fucking admit that those novels that you mentioned are good but Chinese novels have their own fucking way of writing too, and i fucking love it.
