Question Why does everyone like cultivation stories?

I don't like them, I tolerate them, I enjoy a few, and loathe some others.

CN and KR are basically staple reads for me because JP is trash and weeby.

well okay , you are entitled to your own opinions. I will god damm respectfully disagree. yeah its good that you have more than 500 chapters in one series but that means nothing if over half is bad and/or filler

I ask the same question a while ago and the answer people give is because they don't have anything good to read and chinese novels are LONG.

There's a strange charm that can attract us from reading it

 

Because everybody wants to turn almighty by DOING NOTHING ( cultivating immortality ) !!! or by being lazy or sleeping ...

 

Honestly that's very hard question to answer because for people that love to read cultivation novel their reasons of why they love it will be ridiculous or weird to people that don't love cultivation novel

 

Well actually, some of them aren't that bad. Most suffer from rampant overpowering, harem gathering and young master insulting, but not ALL of them, and whit the vast population of wuxia and xianxia novels, you'll find that while not all may interest you there will at least be some that aren't objectively bad. Also what do you defien a Mary Sue as?

 

huh? what do you mean by doing nothing? the reason its called cultivation is because they are doing something to strengthen themselves, this is not some jap. novels where mc obtain cheat op abilities by doing nothing atleast cultivation novels do that with mc facing dangers and the cheat they obtain are the rewards

 

It is nice to see how they face their challanges and oponents as well to see a lot of beauties with diferent personalities. That's say, that sine i'm not a big fan is not easy for me to get hooked easily and right now there isn't a cultivation story i'm really into.

 

That novel and its author are pretty much Japanese..... At least wannabes anyway.

 

I used to like Cultivation Novel when I first read Stella transformation on some random forum that use to have a bunch of other Chinese novel. But after using MLT on so many of them that I can find by only using a simple baidu search and go to a pirate site that host them for free. I was simply sick of it after the plot line for every single one of them repeat like the authors are on auto-play for the genre or something.

So now if I ever find a Cultivation Novel interesting again, I won't even bother with real translation, MTL will do just find, as even skipping hundreds of chapters would not let you miss anything really important and only read chapter title that sound interesting.

 

Even if you do not like it you wil find your self reading it more and more that's why theres a certain charm that will attract you to read those novel

Overly powerful, gets all the shinies. is born or somehow manages to get a secret technigue at a young age , able to beat people when realistically they shouldn't be able too, being able to kill whoever they want, overly concerned about"face" or honor, using insane troll logic to justify themselves. Being a child prodigy, the works.

 

Well im not a part of those "everyone" you said but i do get why.

Because only in novels BETA males IRL can be Alpha, also in their chuuni world.
