Honestly I understand the video ads but this? Please fix asap!!

is wuxiaworld ok? whats with also the ad pop-ups? recently it was only my phone that had ad pop-up, so i ignored it since i use my laptop most of the time. now, however, it gone out of hand and now even my laptop get ad pop-ups and no matter what anti pop-up service I use it wouldn't stop. i seriously can't get into the mood for reading when a iphone ad pop-up every sec.

please if anyone has any advice, please leave it below beacuse at this rate i will have to stop reading on wuxiaworld and most of my current best novels are on wuxiaworld
btw the only way i can read is by loading the chapter then putting it on air plane mode or copy/pasting it onto word

 

didn't get anything, what happened? maybe your wi-fi sneaked upon by some virus? Is it Qidian?

Wuxiaworld has been fine either on the phone or on the computer. Your problem can either be one of two things either you have been watching too much free porn or you are working that Qidian attack groove. Just allow us to enjoy the community without all the drama. It has been relatively peaceful lately *sigh*

 

Slow ads then sure, but no pop-up ads for me. Maybe it's a problem with your computer?

Don't be like that. Let's at least be oblivious and pretend to help the guy out. This isn't the 1st thread with people complaining about WW pop-up ads after all, and most of them are newly created accounts or in-active accounts that suddenly revived.
The ads in QI are something even worse but no one even complaining, cause it's too bothersome.

I think I remember having pop-ups on WW when using tablet, but that was because my malware protection on tablet was non-existent.

 

O come on, it's a known fact their website works horribly, didn't have pop-ups the last few months, but the page reloads itself at least 5 times for each chapter, if you have the iPhone 7 maybe it works fine, but with an outdated tablet like mine it's terrible.

 

I have never had pop-ups, though I have been using the site for years. I did have issues with page reloads, but in that case I have never had an issues while I was in Hungary (i.e being home for about a year or so and visiting once in a while), but in the Netherlands it happens regularly. Scrolling down is a pain in the ass on my laptop, though I try to put up with it or refresh the site until there are only ads that won't keep 'reloading'.
But yeah, it is annoying sometimes - however I am too broke to donate, so I won't disable the ads. I just hope that with the launch of the new site they will be able to improve even stuff like this. If not... well, I guess eventually I will get a job somehow and won't feel guilty even if I disable ads ( as I would donate in that case.... just pls hire me someone, ffs).

 

I'm using script safe with ad block now if I get a bad page than I just turn it on as it's got a get white list set up,
I'm just getting a little p'd off as @rwxwuxiaworld in this post said he was going to get the IT guy to set up a no reply email to when you do help them by emailing the bad ad's, into them
but it's still not done
you can even cheat and use an I'm out of the office reply via outlook or any email system on a pc or it up on the server both only takes 10 mins as I do it for a living,
I'm huge fan of WW and want to support them via the ad's and make my donations as i hate the Patreon system as a few TL's have done some bad thing with it ie taking money and just stopping work on stuff or are a bit of the greedy side until they hide their amounts earned
it is starting to feel like we're getting taken for granted a bit too much at the moment as I've had this bad ad problem for over 6 mths now posting here and in the WW forums in a good few posts

 

I wanted to recommend running a virus scanner but experts in this field have spoken otherwise. So it is very likely it is not the fault of devices but I advice to run a scan either way.

 

To be fair, we can blame WW for all we want, but that isn't likely to be the real issue. Nor is anyone doing IT related stuff for them - I suppose. The problem very well may be with the advertising agency that ignores reports of bad ads. WW ignoring all these issues won't make any profit for them (financially or otherwise), but the agency in charge can easily ignore reports about bad ads - considering the limitations of the market.

 

Yeah with ad blockers on the rise, companies cannot be as picky with their advertisers. Consumers biting themselves in their foot if you ask me, good and bad companies suffer.
There are always consequences. Nothing happens in a vacuum

 

well i get it in a like a 3-week loop really badly and then may be just one in the other 3 weeks, but the thing like the no reply email
can be done very very easily, but as I've pointed out to ren it also etcs the site rating's / search listing plus other stuff and ofc no ad money
as we're forced to use ad blockers also with in the last week I'm getting more and more virus warnings, on the new pages now I've even posted screen pics on ww
btw @noob_senpai all of your points I've pointed out to ren in here and on WW a good few times now,
I've also said I don't wish to block WW but as of now I have no choice until they deal with it, as it's not something we can

You refresh a site 60-100 times a day to read the latest chapter asap? That may help with the ads a bit (unless adblock is on), but also hurts the site (referring back to this from a year ago).
So, in short, all of this can limit the quality of the ads.
Catch 22....

 

Very true, I have also seen site owners telling readers to click on ads, which is against the terms of service of most ad companies (they are exceptions like adfly of course)

I am someone girlfriendless to begin with. I actually would be happy if someone says that someone takes my girlfriend when I have none.
That means I have one!

 

Don't worry you will have your Moteki soon. I was like you before and ended up three timing , I don't advice it but it was a fun experience.
