    Right, there's a novel that I'm pretty sure is Japanese. Anyways, the prologue is that the MC is some old super mage that works for a king that is his best friend. The king betrays him and he ends up dying, but he spent all his life on some dragon time-travel magic or something and uses it as he dies. From there he's a young lad who knows the future and is super talented and stuff.

    Other stuff I vaguely remember is I THINK he helps out a local noble/lord with an ulterior motive to get like, a ring or something.
    He also decides because the friendly royalty betrayed him, he would help out a different royal to spite him, and he chooses like a useless prince.

    PLEASE, can anyone help me with this?
