Some people love it.

Some people hate it.

And some people are like me, it's nothing to be cared about.

Just remember, there are plenty of 'reverse harem' novels out there too. So try to put yourselves in both shoes and think for a second. What impact does it give to a plot of a novel? Does it deserve the hate as much as the love? Or it's simply a 'bonus' to the story.

what's the point of beating around the bush? this is a cultural problem, where they don't value women as people basically and they try to collect as many as they can as if they were figurines, this you can find in asian and arab culture where women don't have equal rights and are considered property that needs to look dainty and speak with a twinkle in their voice and nothing else

Meh, it is just one building block for a story among many, depends entirely on the context it is used.
Some cases deserve all the hate they get and more but that don't make every single story with a harem bad, if it is written in a way that makes sense for the story and setting then it is by all means ok for me.
Harems simply used as a form of fan service is more like torture for me personally though.

Personally for me harem is cool if the members in it have their own personalities instead of being dolls for use.

that's odd, you'd expect a lot more sucking going on when the main focus of the harem is a guy

 

I don't hate it. I just feel that most authors that use it eventually see a drop in their story quality. Characters aren't fleshed out and more emphasis is placed on meaningless descriptions than more insightful emotional aspects and the story line as a whole.

 

Honestly harem its just for guys to dream bc we cant have a harem i mean us normal guys not those rich arabs is just a far away dream for us which society and girls kills it and for guys which hate it bc its annoying and its not reflects things how are in reality bc in reality almost imposible to have harem

 

I try to avoid it because it tends to annoy me beyond reason but if I'm already too deep into the story when it starts happening then I just roll my eyes and get through it.

 

There can only be 1 winner in the game of love? It is fantasy does not matter I rather everyone wins . Except the bad guy of course

 

It's really weird to see a harem novel with developed characters, the autors prefer inserting other woman instead of giving a complex personality, and even use it as some filler when they dont know how to follow their stories
