I only found one comment about the novel and everything else is about the actor being impossibly beautiful man-woman.
mine were softsub too. i'd rather waste 53GB than downloading/watching a youtube's, thank you very much. i can handle bad video but i can't stand bad audio. >.<

Well... haven't got that far with reading the novel. And the drama gave a lot of spoilers so chose to wait for novel TL Edit: but if it's going to be completed tl is another question. It's qidian novel after all

I think they might have went a different route with the drama since I heard something in regards to that spoiler about the novel that sounded very different, though I'm not sure in the end...
okay...since I couldn't stop myself from watching, I thought I'd be angry with the story line since it's almost completely different from the novel, they jumbled it all up but well, I forgive them all because of Lu Han. HAHAHAHAHA! To me, he seriously got Chen ChangSheng character down to almost perfection. Hmn... Spoiler CCS has a very quick wit. In the series, Lu Han got the innocent, warm breeze vibe of CCS down to the tiny particle and his interaction with LouLou is superb! But somehow, in the series, his reactions are somewhat slow in some situations as if he didn't notice the enemies. But well, that's all. Overall, I like Lu Han's portrayal. Hohoho~ What bothers me is their change in Tang 36. 36' family is really powerful in the novel but in the series, they made it just like any merchant family that can be toppled down. I mean, Wenshui Tang family is like another super power, you know! Why is the grandfather not there and why is it that they gave 36 a brother? He is the sole male offspring of the Tang! Omg! And what's with the romance with Mo Yu? There's no Zheqiu!!!! Waaaaaa!!! I was looking forward to meeting Zheqiuuuuuuu!!! Well, I haven't really finished watching it but so far, no Zheqiu in episode 26 still.That's the Zhou garden part and Zheqiu is supposed to be there!!!! Waaaaaa!!!! That Tianhai Ya'er was supposed to be wasted by LouLou during the exam but he is like a cockroach in the series. As for the one portraying XYR, hmn...well, she's okay. I love the fact that the love story between CCS and her started sooner than expected. Just that, the people behind the scenes made it annoying by making her cultivation deviate if she falls in love other than the dragon blooded Qiushan Jun. Like, really? Seriously people? But oh well. As for Qiushan Jun, well, he probably will end up with Nan Ke. I haven't read the ending but it was implied that him and her are probably going to be together.
Novel and drama are completely different. Lets just say they have the same characters but the relationship pairings are different :O
