I'm want to do this Zork kind of thing in PM.

If you don't know what Zork is... It's a text based adventure puzzle RPG
I don't want to have the puzzle bit though.

Pretty much, just PM me to tell me you want to play, and I'll be the GM of the story.
    It's really self-explanatory.

    Edit: Post any questions here?

Would each game be independent or would characters interact?

Hrmm this is much harder than you might think. I would suggest limiting the amount of players or doing a test run with one or two people you know first.

This stems from my experience in doing RP stuff on RRL and the WriTE D&D discord server.

He would just have write a story with diverging paths upon each choice.

Yes, and that's what I mean by harder than you might think. It's "just" writing a story based on diverging paths. This isn't easy. It's time consuming and can get tedious and frustrating as it goes on.

I suppose. Me and my friends created a similar game. We decided on a list of choices and each wrote a path and then got together to put it all together.

If it's Zork style, then is there a limitation to what you can say like a text parser? Like limited to two word commands with some words and combinations banned?

Exactly, the list of choices is a limitation that keeps the games from going overboard and doing it with friends limits the amount of players to a number that's comfortable for the GM. This is the sort of thing I'm suggesting the OP should do first to get the hang of what he's trying to do.

1 to 1. I don't think I can manage the time schedules of the players.

Uh.... I'm the GM. Not really any limits unless it's really stupid.

I'm just planning to write a different story for each person on the go.
