It started the same as the author's other work, MC got kidnapped in the street and 'sold' as male bride by the supposed bride lol The setting is the same, but focus more on the politic and palace intrigue.

The Original Jiang Lin supposedly died after being kidnapped/struck and sent to the dying ML's room. Jiang Lin transmigrated with his space that filled with foods and his miracle spring water. The Original's mother died and his father remarried and the stepmother birthed 2sons and a daughter. When there is a stepmother there'll be a stepfather. The Original tried so hard to make his father see/favor him, but to no avail instead he was battered with bad rumor such as like to seduce male, courtesy of his step sister scheme ofc. This novel world was not a three genders, but male x male relationship was acceptable. There'd be another 2nd couple too.

ML was a general on his dead bed, Wei YunZhao was poisoned on the battlefield just after winning the war, his father died there too either being poisoned or from the battle. ML family now consisted of women all with their own agenda and greed. The grandmother was too brainless could only spoil her lazy son (the 2nd son), the mother was a timid woman who care her natal family more, the sister in law was greedy, the 2nd uncle was lazy without moral; in short all adults in that family were total nightmare. The children were ML's 13yo sister, 6yo brother, from the 2nd household were 2daughters of 12 and 8yo. Luckily the children mindset and attitude were still good and willing to be saved/taught.

The marriage was actually bestow by the emperor so the Jiang didnot dare not to marry the daughter to a dying man, instead they and the crown prince said to Emperor that it was Jiang Lin himself that swapped and took the marriage himself. The day Jiang Lin went back to Jiang, he let others to see that he was only sent to the Wei with 2 red quilts as dowry, not even a clothes was given to him. He made a fight with the Jiang for the Wei dowry that should be given back to him as the bride, and his mother dowry which should also be his. Since his mother's family was rich and the dowry was alr being squandered by the stepmother to her own family and so on. Jiang father also shocked when he found out how much the stepmom gave things to her own family and also to save his own face he ordered her to give back and Jiang Lin gave her 7days to do it.

Oh right, the step daughter, Jiang JinYue was the protagonist of this novel world, and she had a system. A system that would help her to choose a target to be the emperor. But the system wasnot that OP, it only could discuss/help to invent plan to her, but it could detect that the canon fodder Jiang Lin and Wei YunZhao were supposed to die, with them still alive it'd hinder their planning and thus the system decided to get rid both of them so the plot could stay on track. JinYue hated Jiang Lin very much.

Wei YunZhao was being poisoned, his medicine was wronged too and still monitored when he was in coma too. He was surprised to still be alive, and had a male wife, but now he was more concerned of the Wei's chaotic family. After he was strong enough to go out, he went to the emperor to resign as general because now he could be only in wheelchair. The emperor might stop targeting him for now but not all his enemies would stop.

MC and ML relationship was a cooperation at first. Jiang Lin needed a place to stay as his business with his scum family not yet finished. With Jiang Lin here, Wei YunZhao could see that he was fair and smart. He could deal with all the women in his family better aka cleaning up the house inside and out. So Wei YunZhao supported and gave him the status as the housekeeper of Wei. Slowly, Wei YunZhao could see that he was lucky to marry Jiang Lin, eventhough he felt Jiang Lin only liked his muscly body lol And Jiang Lin too, slowly felt he was dependent to his husband, but he thought it was a nice feeling to be spoiled.

Jiang Lin was the type to counterback. Jiang Lin bribed the beggars to go to the Jiang house and made them placard just like how people do strike lol They carried and wrote in the placard and shouted things to smear on the stepmom and daughter reputation. Well, that was because the stepmom was slandering him with false charge regarding the dowry. Later on those beggars would be given gongs and cymbals to make it more merrier while doing some rhythm rap style insults lol

The attack and counter went back and forth until Jiang Lin received all the dowry. Half to the story, the next trouble would come from the royal. The throne fighting between princes, the empress hatred over Wei's family, emperor jealousy and shallow mindedness. Jiang Lin and Wei YunZhao interaction were so much fun to read.

I like this one more than the 31, the author is the same tho. Hmm.... maybe because the cause effect and background story are explained more detailed so I dont lose my head over WHY while reading. I also like how Jiang Lin is a stingy and vengeful person (his words) and he's not half assed in being kind or bad.
