Manga Recommendation- Shadow House

Summary:

Faceless shadow nobles living in a vast mansion, attended by living dolls who spend much of their time cleaning up the soot endlessly emitted by their mysterious masters.

Follow the story of Emilyko, a young and cheerful living doll, as she learns her duties serving as the attendant for Kate Shadow-sama.

Thoughts:

Its a wonderfully draw manga with colored pages. The whole story deals with the ideas of individuality and face through a slice of life kind of style with a deep mystery brewing in the back ground.

The Shadow Family is a unique noblehouse with all the members having no faces and have this peculiar characteristic of emitting black scoot when they feel negative emotions, and it's as if they are cover in scoot; everything they touch gets dirty. This is why they have living dolls, or 'faces' whose duty to serve and clean after their shadow master.

This story is centered on Kate-sama and Emilyko and I just love their interactions. It's just so cute and heart warming. It's also quite interesting that they're so different from each other. Kate-same is more knowledgeable and elegant and on the other hand Emilyko is more cheerful and sunny.

Throughout the manga, we meet other living dolls and shadows or Okage-samas (word of address for unknown shadows they don't know names of yet. With 'kage' meaning shadow and 'o' attached for respect.) And we see the different relationships between each pair. Like for example there's a pair where the master is obsessed with her servant's face and fawning all other it. Then there's another where they don't commicate at all.

Overall it's endearing manga with fluffy and comedy on the surface with a deep feeling on the inside, almost kinda unsettling like something off. I super recommend it.
