There's a system, a pregnancy system! and then there's no system. There's a mystery of rebirth and transmigration, then there's no mystery. Aka, I dont understand what's the use of the system in this story and why'd the author make such a huge plot for us to jump, a whole lot of mystery of the reborn and the transmigrator yet the author stopped digging the pit and let us stay in the hole with WHY?? Pls explain!. Still it's one of those new concept for me, the first time I read this sort of plot, so yeah passable.

Bai Guo was left to fend for himself in the Bai household, his mother died after giving birth to him then not long his father married again. The stepmother was the typical stepmother in ancient time, and the father too with his poor mentality and loose pants. Yes, there's a system that suddenly went into Bai Guo's body through his earlobe, and since he was a ger, the system said he'd protect him as the body of 'mother' could not be in danger. So for a while, whenever people tried to roughen Bai Guo they'd either fall or repel. Bai Guo was afraid when he found out there was a voice in his head, but since he saw the 'god' didnot harm him and help him instead, he was actually happy. This poor young master was very timid, innocence, naive and lack of knowledge of everything since he was neglected and never went out of the mansion.

By the scheme of his stepmother and the other concubine, he was sent to the palace as the choice for the harem draft, and by luck he was chosen as one of the prince's wang fei. The 3rd prince Xie Lin was an enigma in the whole story (for me as the reader too), but he certainly wanted Bai Guo as his wang fei. After the decree for their marriage, Xie Lin started to woe his wife, buying him cakes, toy, etc. Bai Guo was puzzled, he thought this war prince was not like the rumor. Bai Guo didnt have good affectionate feeling with his father and the Bai's. And he just found out that he still had relative. They were his mother's big brother that went home after 10 years guarding the border and his ger son. They were both very shocked to know how evil Bai father was. Both of them loved Bai Guo and they pulled him out of the Bai's mnasion to live in their own mansion.

Bai Guo started to believe Xie Lin and he himself started to change, his behavior, attitude and mindset. Before he was really.....making me angry! too nice and naive. After marrying a prince, befriending his sisters in law, and taking care of the mansion and business, he didnot want to think about the miserable life he experienced after all now the Bai was alr in decline.

After the marriage, the story involved more with the princes' relationship among themselves, their backyard's problem and how it influenced/affected Bai Guo and Xie Lin, the palace's concubine intrigue which didnot involve both and the throne's (ofc) issue.

By the end of it, I dont think I read how the reborn and the transmigrator AND the system tangled in the previous life and how they still entangled themselves in this life. Also no clear story of what's actually happening back then to Bai Guo, Xie Lin and all the other characters fate/ending. Too bad.
