Wei ZhiHe lived not the normal live as his grandfather wished he would. From his grandfather, Wei ZhiHe inherited the Wei family ability, to catch demon. After his parents died, he was raised by his grandfather, his father younger siblings even loved him more than their own children. Wei ZhiHe body constitution was not normal, he could and needed to eat demon orb to help his condition which made him to have more power than the normal taoist master.

Wei ZhiHe went to study in the university in the city and lived in the dorm. His grandfather gave and asked him to reopen his old store where he used to take commission to catch demon. Wei ZhiHe had principle to only eat demon when they had killed/ate human//demon. The neighbor in the old store building was Gu Lin, a math prof in his uni. Wei ZhiHe felt Gu Lin must be a very delicious demon, and he wanted to eat him. But he could see that he was a great demon and not his match which meant he could not eat only smell to satiate his appetite.

Somehow, Gu Lin and Wei ZhiHe met and befriended each other. Gu Lin only thought he was a very capable (weak human) student who could not cook, so his housekeeper often asked Wei ZhiHe to eat with them. But Gu Lin had a headache for this weak human was easy to attract demon to his store. Half the store was said to be antique store. So, began the life of Wei ZhiHe in juggling with studying, playing with his dorm mates, hunting demon (he needed to eat), solving demonology commissions (it's good if he could catch demon too), helped taoist master and police to solve accident related to his expertise, and watered his plant.

The cases were not that scary or demonic imo. Only the first few in their uni felt a bit light horror, but the rest were mild. The last mystery was his own existence which was brought and executed a bit rush and not too detail which made it fell flat. This part started ard chapter 130ish, and finished ard 150. But it was fine for me, that part was not that memorable for me lol I prefer to read the cases more.
