Weird notification and old habits

So... twelve hours ago, someone deleted a post of mine in this thread.

Your post in the thread Please Help me was deleted. Reason: Do not necro random threads. Especially to help some dumbass break the laptop his school loaned to him.

I don't know who did it, and I don't know whether or not they are just messing with me. As far as I can recall, all I said in the thread was for the kid to contact their network admin because it's possible that perhaps their router has content filtering. And the thread was started just this month, which I know by now doesn't count as a "necro". So maybe it was an unintentional mistake?

Once again, I write about things that unsettle me. There's just something that nags at me whenever I felt that maybe I've offended someone without realizing it. My bestfriends would often scold me for being a "trying so hard to please everyone" type of person. I've already worked on myself and learned where to draw a line. But sometimes, this old habit of mine just kicks in.

      Actually, I have already contacted a mod about this before.

      Necroing is judged on a case by case basis, the 3 months thing is more of a limit of the common sense guideline, but necroing can be considered any bump of any thread that didn't get any reply for a while.

      The exact amount varies on each case.

      Thanks for the replies, people. This entry is just another brainfart, I suppose. Like it doesn't matter anyway if someone misconstrued my intentions to help the thread starter by telling him to consult with their network administrator regarding his problems.

      the important part is to dont help an idiot mess up what sounds like school or business property. usually only schools public places or businesses does that kind of blocking

      necro threads are ones that have been inactive for a minimum of 3 month stated in the rules

      Necro is reviving old threads.. For ex: threads that's been made a week ago and have no reply.. Or even thread from months ago.. Thx..

      Can you explain to me what ‘necro’ means? Also, I admire that your first concern is that you’re worried about offending someone, I would surely have several retorts for having one of my comments deleted for such a reason.
