This is a poem by Jhene Aiko, shared by @Bad Storm. I just loved it and wanted to share it here with you all.
There's an ancient greek quote like this: "I will never die. It is the world that will end." The Garden As the roses lay dying and the tulips sit dry, while the fruit trees are fruitless, and there is no longer life. A rain drop has yet to meet the steaming summer sky. i spread apart the soil and drop a lonely seed, i say, "soon you will grow, show the world what you can be." Alas, the next month, It grew so big and full. Without any rain, any help, it did grow. And any of you could dare to judge me out of my mind, but i believe that faith alone could succeed in time. So when the rain did come, new seeds struggled to grow. But came the lonely flower, who showed them how to hope. "Faith": One's own *forward-for-forward*
When I am dead, my dearest BY CHRISTINA ROSSETTI When I am dead, my dearest, Sing no sad songs for me; Plant thou no roses at my head, Nor shady cypress tree: Be the green grass above me With showers and dewdrops wet; And if thou wilt, remember, And if thou wilt, forget. I shall not see the shadows, I shall not feel the rain; I shall not hear the nightingale Sing on, as if in pain: And dreaming through the twilight That doth not rise nor set, Haply I may remember, And haply may forget.
