Fish
Have you ever seen the fish?
I asked you with a smile
You nodded.
Your mouth made motions.
open
and
close
Over and over again
Yet what you said escaped me.
For your words, long I treated them as bubbles the fish spoke of.
Remembrance
There's a mark etched deep inside my heart.
A kind of longing that calls for your name.
Even if I close my eyes I could see you vividly.
I remember the shape of your face.
Your straight, aquiline nose.
Your sparkling, limpid eyes.
The bow of your supple lips that I wish to kiss.
I remember you fondly.
With a smile upon my lips.
And an ache
That wouldn't quite disappear.
