I'm now wondering why I felt like I was in a cave when I titled this.. My apt.is bright..did I mean my mind? Now I'm questioning my own sanity..
Anyway on with my story..
Just thinkin how ridiculous things are sometimes.. How the adults act w/ no apparent common sense or are they just buckling from the pressure..
After the weekend I had I just wanted to let my brain gather up its remaining cells so I could function as a human.. Saturday I lost my mind..Sunday I lost face..Hoping for a relaxing Monday..
Go to the school I volunteer at only had to be there today for 2 hours so I thought piece of cake..well that wasn't to be No.. No. .No.. I really must have pssd the gods off.. I usually refer to the school as Arkham Asylum but they outdid themselves today.. even the adults joined in the fray.. Its a charter school for performing arts- code for is this a real high school?
Scenario: first thing I see a note from teacher-she was on field trip-how nice for her-The note says they have a student protest in the parking lot concerning School safety/America has a huge sad problem there/ they go @11:00 they need to be back @10:30 did I just see that correctly? Apparently she was in a rush to get the hell out of there..
Checking them out on the roster sure oh sorry they just herded out the door.. Im just hoping they all come back I already might be down one job after Sunday..
2 boys stay behind a cute guy w dreads and a quiet kid..The quiet boy gets up and turns off the lights.. I say whats up guy? Two teenagers cute college girl.. Back portable class.. He says oh we are on lockdown! I say I thought you were having a protest in lot.. He says yeah we are.. The guy w/ the dreads is apparently pretty sharp and says yeah thats why I didnt go to protest because I thought it didnt make sense to have a protest while we are having a lockdown..I like this guy makes sense..
He and I bonded and he told me apparently the Principle doesnt have $ in budget for safety measures cause she spent $40,000 on a lighting system for the theater.. Well I walked right in front gate it would cost $0 to lock the F***n gate.. My mind cant handle this.. Her reasoning is it doesnt look like a school.. it looks just like a school for teenagers that have look at me I'm a great target written all over them.. Pink hair. cosplay outfits worn to school, multi orientations.. girls named Jack, boys named Jasmine.. I can never look this principal in the face after listening to this...
WTF.. they come back in and two empowered future feminists literally hijacked the class there goes collecting the geometry crossword they were supposed to do..There's crying.. yelling.. thank the gods we are in back, I just sat back and said whatever..they have a right to be anxious and scared.. I was upset for them..WOW..
Left a note on desk saying.. Sorry they didnt get the crossword done..They wanted to discuss the protest so I let them.. Actually I was a willing participant.. I literally collected blank papers half w no names on.. Sorry, happy face drawn in pencil.. See you next week!
So much for a peaceful Monday..2hrs felt like 3 days in the 7th layer of hell..
This has been fun bloggin my nonsense.. I feel ready for my week w/ my serious face on.. Adults.. really aren't they supposed to make more sense than a fifteen year old with dreadlocks and his own band?

That was a good response I think! Nobody can live in fear, so we need to do what we can and simply live our live with what we have!!

      You did a good job!

Yeah, a hostess where I work said they have an old guy in a golf cart too. .at least that something.. I mean it sucks teenagers are sooo worried about it as I witnessed yesterday.. they all ready have alot on their plate just growing up in a world of social media and typical teenage angst.. Im no expert but I told them you can't live in fear just be self aware.. One of the basic premises of terrorism is the 'threat of terrorism' where it creates intense sense fear in people's minds- I took a poli-sci class haha- It plants a seed of fear in your brain and you do the rest by letting it grow and control your life.. FEAR...Eeek..So I told them tell your fears to your parents and have them collectively tell the school they want safety measures implemented..I felt that was the appropriate adult response hah.. America is awesome. but like anywhere else there are problems that need to be dealt with.. Guns and there accessibility is HIGHLY DISTURBING!! Had my coffee a little NUF off to school:):eek:o_O:)..I love emojis.. I'm a simple person.. Noche shout out to you thx for the discussion of this topic!:)

      *hugs* Ganbatte...

I personally never had any problems with protests and the like (at least back in my school days, lost count of how annoyed I got at those when I was in uni) because I have always been in private schools, but... *shivers*

It really is horrible... Hopefully it gets better throughout the week! >.<

I guess the reason we dont feel any threat is because we have a sense of community(?)

Our school left the gates open. It wasn't until the mass shooting this year that the security officer (who is an old man) started showing up more and they started closing the gates.

That sucks.. Here the school has to be accredited and they need to take core classes.. Like the class was Geometry today.. Just for electives they have a wider choice of theater *an amazing theater* now I know why" hey lets not buy locks I saw a great lighting system only $40,000" but they need English, Math, History etc. It does afford an opportunity for these teenagers to be with other similar kids.. less bullying than public schools.. I have volunteered at one that is run like a tight ship this one just is insane...Nothing worse than untransferable credits.. except a school that doesnt care about your safety.. Also brought to mind dont those adults have a sense of self preservation?

Well one of my friends went to a charter school and gave him credits that were useless and didn't transfer when he moved schools.
