I'm thinking about hosting MTL sometime around 2021

Hmmm..I'll be venting my thoughts again.....

If I can't keep translating hobby-wise. I might convert a section of my site into into Raw MTL or Edited MTL. Like make a separate area for raw works. Redo my webpage and stuff.

I wouldn't MTL -NMTL- AITL already translated content (projects of other translators). I'm not in the business to compete against other translators & groups. I don't even translate my current projects for money. (its my hobby)

But with the increasing climate of less human translators around. I feel there isn't much passion/ inspiration left for new or young, upcoming people to take up the mantle that others have left behind.

We are heading into another era of translated content, and a part of me feels that when I'm no longer translating (& have gone back to the sidelines) no one else will step up to the plate.

But I want people to be aware of the stories out there. The novels on the pickup request forum is just a small drop in the vast amount of novels out there.

Sure I may be able to read Japanese for my personal pleasure. But I can't really share that with other English readers quite easily. Because the work I'm sharing is being understood through my mind. That's the translating, the editing, & the proofreading process that goes into my projects.

My goal is just to bring more attention to some stories. Maybe, inspire some-one out there to pick up the torch, and translate. Whether it be for profit or passion. Just to bring stories to others for enjoyment or sorrow.

And who knows, maybe one day Neural Machine translations & Artificial Intelligence Translations will surpass Human Translatory efficiency.

The reason I'm thinking about 2021 (2 years from now). It's all in preparation for me when I have to take on more responsibilities in real life. By that time, I'd be finished with my Trades apprenticeship, college & some other things (probably move, for job opportunities). I'm not sure what's in store for me, and you can probably tell I'm anxious for the future, while still holding onto a few of my passions.

If you're passing by, thank you for reading & I wish you all the best!

I think you shouldn't worry too much, translators have always been a rare commodity, but this community is only growing, there are a lot more translators now than there were 10 years back.

While tons of novels will surely never get fully translated, you can rest assured new translators will join the scene in the future~
