It's a pity I can't be drunk,
(blame the flawed circuits inside my brain)
Can't treat my twisting heart
To the inertia only wine can offer.
Can only see it bleed and suffer.
Can't treat it to oblivion.
Sparkling wine only burns its way down,
Leaving a fiery trail,
From my throat to my heart and back to my eyes,
Fiery and bleeding,
As if scratched with a red hot nail!
Don't look into my eyes!
There's no tear.
Perched and hot,
Smouldering with fire.
My legs tremble,
My brain doesn't falter.
Dreams, I never had them.
Riches, I didn't bother.
Only a nameless face,
A touchless kiss,
Ageless silence,
Restless wonder.
My Madeira sip,
My smouldering desire.
Your vague face,
Dripping hair stuck on forehead,
Droplets on your bare neck.
Grips my heart with red hot iron tong.
Even when I know it's all illusion and wrong.
@in_awe, sweet lil sister, your Drunken Wine made me write it.
Blame it on you XD
