Just Woke Up Because Of The Weirdest Nightmare

So you ever get those dreams you know are dreams? This was one of them...but it happened all too abruptly.

The dream involved me being driven home by a confused grandmother who wanted to lecture me about something. I brought in my and my brother's stuff. When I had this thought, I knew it was a dream. I don't ever get my brother's stuff. He doesn't want me to touch it. But in the stuff I do vaguely remember taking a gun and placing it on this little windowsill just as I enter the building from the backdoor.

So the dream moves on. At home, in the room next to the backdoor. By now, I already know this is a dream and I just want to experience the life of this family. Apparently, the grandson has the name of Sam and he wanted to see his dad so bad he waited on the couch in that back room with the door so he could be the first to see him.

However, Sam fell asleep. It was dark. A loud thumping noise hits the wall and faint sounds of "Boys! BOYS!" fills the dark night air. It sounds really desperate. Incredibly desperate. I control Sam to wake up and yell back. "Dad? Dad!"

I remember the gun. I go over and open the door to see a dark figure rush by me not bothering to close the door. The family dog butts his head against me and I try to calmly assess the situation. The dad isn't saying anything, but I can feel him standing there behind me. I politely shove the dog back and turn around. By now, there is a creepy feeling.

It is still dark so I reach behind me to grab the gun and point it at the figure. Just as I cock it and say, "Dad?" one more time, the light comes on and the man is just standing there bug eyed looking down at me.

"You aren't Sam."

I woke up so fast. It was so fucking bizarre. I want to go back to sleep not knowing I ever experienced this.
