One thing I absolutely love about Philippines is how spectacular its beaches are. Granted, my worldview isn't that wide yet haha.

Anyway, this weekend, me and the extended fam went into a trip. We set off before the dawn even breaks, the sky was dark as night and there wasn't even a hint of traffic in the main roads of the city. Even then, it took almost five hours to reach the destination! (Actually, I'm already used with that much traveling, my hometown's about 8 hours away from the capital)

It was fun. I chatted with people I'd rarely see because of the conflicting schedules and busy lives. I played in the sand, building castles and making a pool. There's was an ample amount splashing around in the blue water. Rode a boat to go to a sand bar. And food! Yum yum. :blobdrool:

I think it's always a good idea to give ourselves time to enjoy life. Especially, with the people we love and cherish. It could be as simple as playing board games at home or going on trip. The most important thing is to appreciate the present and have no regrets, no what ifs.

The afternoon after we arrived, I was sitting on the sand watching the sun sink. The nostalgic sound of the waves crashing upon the shore made remember the time when I still live in my hometown. The waves here in Laiya is much calmer than in Dagupan, they are more like ripples than actual waves. It was soothing. Familiar. The warm sand beneath me, the cool breeze brushing past, the seagulls above; it was really soothing. As if one's soul is getting healed by nature. God knows how much of a needed break this get away trip is.

The sand, sea and the shore, they all are temporal. Always changing. Never the same. But one thing they never fail to do for me is to remind me that they're not the only thing that's ephemeral. I am too. Everything is. And that's how I learned my creed: to live one day at a time and take things as they come. We are creatures of the present.

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays! :blobsmilehappyeyes:
