Letting Go (Poems)

I heard you coming
As your footsteps always sound the same
And the frictions of your shoes
They have been embedded on my heart for long

Things would end soon
So why don't we take a step back first?
Starting from how this story unfolded
Until how this same story will be closed

Between us exists a wall
That can't be torn down at all
Or maybe we could
But we both know too well
That we will never do so

The difference between us,
is too big to be covered
Just like how a piece of paper,
can never cover a burning match

You're never there on Sundays
And I used to cover my eyes
Blinding myself from the fact,
that I should love one who won't be there on Fridays

Who are we going to hate?
Is it time for letting us meet in the corridor?
Or is it fate that selfishly decided to introduce us?
Can I even resent them?
Even though the moment we stepped into this,
we both already knew the only available choices?

Giving in,
keeping that difference,
or the choice we have to bear now,
letting go.

Lost in the darkness of your eyes
I wish I could always own them forever
And I know you're lost in my blurry eyes
Wishing you could erase all of my tears

But we both know we can't
Because we have to let go
And you know this fragile courage of ours
Might disappear anytime
And we can't bear another day
Knowing clearly that there's no hope

I know you don't want to let go
I can hear the pain inside your voice
And you can see me breaking into pieces

We have chosen to let go.

And I can only force my feet
To turn away and leave
But you should know
How badly I want to run into your warm embrace
Erasing the tear that escaped your eye
But I know I can't

We thought love words is not necessary
So we never said one to each other
So let me call you Dear
Even if it's just on my mind

Dear Mr. Right who appeared with a wrong situation,
You should know
That this heart of mine
Will never recover a piece of it
