Friends! Let me explain one of my bad habits.
Sometimes I suggest changes in the writing style of a fellow aspiring writer. It is not to show that I'm a more enlightened one. It's just to show how things look in a different light. It is a common practice in writing world and there's no intention to look down upon someone.
Of course, I need the other person's consent to do that. But in case of friends I sometimes take the liberty of suggesting change on my own and that's a big mistake. I really shouldn't do that.
In Scribblehub Disc aspiring writers often share their writings in Google docs where you can suggest changes in the context and ask for others' opinions. To accept the suggestion or not, is up to the writers.
Once the suggestions are made, there are often long convos regarding the changes suggested. The one who suggested those changes is given chance to explain why they offered such changes. That's a two way communication conducive of self development for both parties.
I guess not everyone is comfortable with it. So I'll refrain from making any suggestion unless I'm explicitly asked to give some.
That's all.
