One of the sad things about university, not sad, just a little mellow, that sometimes you see someone, a stranger, and then you never see them again. A little absurd, if you think about it; Jeongguk gets sad over strangers he won’t ever see again. That’s why he’d rather study at home most days, because when he studies at the library, he gets distracted by people. People with their loose ponytails and untucked hair, cold hands warmed tucked between thighs, people with their oversized jumpers and DC martin boots, people with their pastel highlighters and notes about anatomy, people with their hearts and fragility. And Jeongguk gets attached, to all of them. His mother always said he loved a little too easily, too much, too quickly. It’s overwhelming, and he doesn't have time to mourn over strangers. So in the words of his beloved Tae, he skulks in his room most the time, unwilling to engage in any other life forms, hunched over his desk like a mad scientist with a bad diet because he falls in love with people. Tae's almost right, though, but replace mad scientist with a broke university student struggling to even do the bare minimum, and you’ve pretty much got Jeongguk.
