A few days ago I cooked a pork loin, and for a moment I felt like someone who could cook. That illusion was quickly broken when I realized I seared one of the sides for too long. Yes, that side was a little too dark... okay it was black. However, I would like to argue that practice makes perfect. After that one side, I was able to cook the other sides alright. I seasoned it, put it on apple, and popped it in the oven. I was surprised at how simple it was. I thought it was going to be super complicated and intimidating. I can hear the thoughts of "If it was so simple then why did you burn it?" and to that, my reply is "Practice. Remember the practice thing? Practice!" Anyways, this is but another example of how you shouldn't put things off without trying them. Who knows, you might do alright. So in this cooking experience, confidence was raised a little, knowledge was gained, and a cooked pork loin was obtained.

I cooked a pork loin last week to test out the oven and it was great too! A simple marinade with orange juice, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and onion on a oven bag. Baked for 2 hours at 350F! Then added a bit of flour and butter in the cooking juices to thicken up a gravy! I had a lot of leftovers to freeze and also put away some thinly sliced pieces to make sandwiches.
