Today is, well you know, Chinese New year. All is good and all yesterday. I'm not Chinese so I decided to work over time today instead of taking a week off like most people would do. The pay would be crazy good by the end of the month, I told myself.

So, me and few of my senior coworkers were doing next to nothing, at the morning at least. I didn't watch Slime Rimuru yesterday, thinking that I can just watch it at the office. Until..,,

Some unforeseen circumstances happened. Basically, well, you know. How do I explain this. I am a land surveyor. Taking asbuilts of slabs and elevators, calculating the height of buildings from sea level all that stuffs. That's what I do for a living. Well, basically. I'm truly sorry for the overusing the word "well". The file got corrupted, and majority of the readings were wrong. And I also have misguided people to do the piling 23.3cm off. The pile is 12 meters deep. A month worth of job just went poof in a matter of second, and only because of that I realized that most of the readings were wrong.

I FUCKED UP BIG TIME, DUDE.

Spent the entire day to make it right. I HAVE TO REDO A MONTH WORTH OF JOB, IN A FUCKING WEEK WITHOUT MY BOSS FINDING OUT.

Also, how am I supposed to call someone and say "Hey man, remember the last week piling we did? Yeah? Can you dig it out." He'd definitely be mad at me for having to dig out 6 piles.

May God of Work give me his blessings.

P.S This is why construction is always delayed. Because of people like me.

Thanks for the support, appreciate it guys.

@Emmyy no, it's not because that it's corrupted that the readings are wrong, more likely that it's wrong in the first. The theodolite might have been setup the wrong way or the measuring tools were faulty. I'm not sure if it's something common since my experience is limited but this is the first time I experienced it.

Yes, there are people who would read it. Like my coworkers and my supervisors. Then we merged the files and compiled it. I contact my supervisor to ask about the back up, he did send me the backup. So yea, the corrupted ones are saved. However, I still have to fix the readings of the asbuilt.

I also need to contact the builders to find solutions. Since several marks had been(I have no idea what it is called in English) misplaced. So, the pillars were off. Like toddlers building blocks, if it's not stacked properly, it will fall off. Same goes here, if the pillars are misaligned, the building will collapse. We need to find a way to prevent this, can't just destroy the pillars and make a new ones..

Well, the thing that scares me the most is that, I'm making trouble to lots of people. And many are on holidays, so the ones who are working right now will definitely hold a grudge against me. Like, seriously.

      Especially sewerage...

Wow..I had to google as built and what your job is..may I ask how did the file get corrupted to throw off the readings? Is this something that happens in your work occassionally? Don't you have a chain of people reading it before it gets submitted?

I remember you saying your boss is cool hopefully you can make it right..When I screw up on this or that I usually comfort myself by saying it can be fixed I wasn't performing brain surgery thank the gods.
Good luck to you in resolving this w/o too much backlash..have a cup of hot chocolate while you work on it
