Do you too, like to read reviews before actually deciding if you wanna read a novel or something?
Do you too suffer under it, as you read negative reviews and can't help to remember them when actually reading, but still need to check the reviews to see if some stuff you don't like/a bad version of something you like is in the novel?
Here is a guide on how to go through positive reviews to look for negative things:
1. Read the positive reviews, instead of the megative ones! If you don't read the negative reviews, your brain doesn't get to remember the bad words about the good stuff~
2. Look for a long review. The short "yeah, i liked it!" Is meh and useless
3. Now that you have a long review, there are specific words/things to look for!
Things like "however", "but", "although" or a straight up "I didn't like this or that".
There are different kinds of reviews, but people that write long reviews tend to, at some point, include the negatives even when writing a postive review, as a sidethought.
This isn't a clear cut thing; as you never know if the person who wrote the review you are reading dislikes similar things, so if you are 100% against reading a novel with a certain thing, this may not help.
But when you dislike certain things being bad or badly represented/included, this is a good indicator to go off of
4. Profit
5. ???
(On second thought, this may be good for authors too, but meh, dunno)
