they found her body
broken
blood all over the floor
she fell on her back
eyes closed
like she was sleeping
and would wake up any second now
but she didn't
her eyes remained close
as she was put in a stretcher
as she was carried inside the ambulance
as she was mourned
and finally buried
she never woke up
and so did I
it all felt like a dream
a horrible one
