As I pointed had talked about in my previous blog, I had Mother of Learning on my list of stuff I was going to finish reading. Well I just did that.

The webnovel is good, really good. The ending ties up everything and leaves space for future series too. But the ending disappointed me a bit. Not saying it is bad or something, infact it is pretty good. I just feel it could have been much much better, or atleast had the potential to be much better.

There is also the small problem of numerous plot lines being left behind, which tbf is bound to happen given the nature of the loop.

Now the major complain of mine is a big fat lack of worldbuilding. Like yeah you have the mansion and the northern forest but only barely explored. Or Koch and southern jungles, I feel making Orissa a major char + some local politics + some myths of Koch would have made this a really interesting arc.

Other stuffs include waste of Lizardmen arc, a lot more could have been done about the Ziggurat part too. Exploring other countries, meeting spirits (which btw got completely abandoned and actively pissed me off as it got abandoned for some real meh stuff.) My theory was that they would get denied by the Gate guardian, the bodyshifting primordial would turn out to be a no-no for them and they would find themselves having to find a "friendlier" primordial to escape.

The second thing that gets me really mad is the whole bloody wasted potential and development of the Lich and Ulquaan Ibasa.

Another thing worth mentioning is how lopsided the magic system is made by author. Like mind/soul/dimensional magic > everything else. Here is also loss of exploring a rich magic system, which btw the series was totally on a path for and would have been a perfect addition.

The good part of the ending was the three I win chapters. The meh part was everything else about the real month.

Onr of my favourite parts was the reveal that the world itself was within a primordial. Like damn that declaration was worth the mystery and wait. It did get a small meh afterwards from me when it got recealed that it was more like something a primordial could wear.

The sense of loss was present, I must admit it was well done for what author was aiming for.

I do feel it would have been pretty great if the 7 great dragons part was given expanded upon but I feel it more for future of this series.

Well at the end I did find the series totally worth reading and I am honestly looking forward to any new series the author will start.

      @pass1478 Finished. I think the author was thinking about pulishing it but has not published it yet.

      @Novela Yes I totally would!

      Would you recommend reading it ? (I half read the first chapter because thought it was interesting but it didn't feel my cup of tea so left it and found another novel which I'm currently reading so it got pushed back)

      I didn't find mind/soul/dimensional magic stronger than anything else. Mind magic was countered for thousands of years by the mindblank spell. Soul magic was created by gods, so of course it's a league above mortal magic. Fortunately, there's defensive countermeasures to soul attacks, and no one's figured out how to recreate divine mana(or whatever it is gods used to create souls). Dimensional magic requires a doctorates or masters degree on how to fit more in less, and also takes way too much mana to realistically make a pocket world(with continents and oceans) without primordials.

      I do agree that other schools of magic would have been fun to explore, but Zach pretty much covered all other schools for cool and awesome magic (i.e. lasers, fireballs, death orbs, magic incantations, bubble shields, etc.).
