The childhood house that's still my house

In front of my heart,
across my childhood house a few meters off to the right
is a hill i never went up to
they say there is a deep river flowing
by the side
that i never see
not that there would be flowing water
i believe
for the dry season has come
and with it the day
of
counting and not counting
will the rain pour today or is it the soft drops trickling like they won't touch the ground
or so i heard
still in my childhood house at the window to the backyard
is a mountain view
and many hills
that i never went up to
