Rants
I am picturing a sitcom with a Black guy that is very similar to Al Bundy plus with Rippa's anti-SJW mindset. Oh, and this Bundy-type character would be a huge fan of silent films, Oh, and the show would be largely written and produced and directed by Black people who are anti-SJW. His name would be Tyrone. Tyrone would insult Leftists and conservatives.

-The Summer 2019 anime "Astra Lost in Space" had 10 main characters. Here are some of them: An intersex ship engineer named Luca Esposito who IDs as a boy. Luca was portrayed in a positive manner. Luca's Eng. voice was Ciaran Strange, an English transman. Another character is the gun-handling Ulgar Zweig, voiced Black VA named Chris Dontrell Piper. The botanist character Charce Lacroix. Jason Liebrecht, a Chilean Jew, voiced him. An emotionally-repressed singer girl named Yun-Hua Lu was by a Pinoy named Dawn M. Bennett. Finally, protagonist and a captain named Kanata was voiced by Josh Grelle, who IDs as they and is bisexual.

Caitlin Glass directed this dub, as well the Eng, dubs of "Appare-Ranman!" and "Horimiya". With the latter 2 series, her buddy, a Pinoy named Shaw Gann, has co-directed the Eng. dubs of 6 anime titles that she was the Eng. dub director for. Shawn is a voice actor but tends to be background voices and bit parts. I am not sure what his break-out anime voice role if any will be.

A. There have been times where I have tweeted something like the following to a person playing a Blackwashed of an established White character, namely in live-action: "[Twitter handle]. They only cast you because you are Black. If you were smart and are aware that the character was established as White, you would have turned down that role, you SJW!"

a. Those actors/actresses deserve such criticism worded in a manner similar to what I wrote. They know the character was established was White but don't care. If they want a job in representation, audition for an established Black character. Same goes with Whitewashing concerns.
b. Going with the calling out the celeb for playing a Blackwashed role, my intent is to trigger them enough so that they quit said role because the role should have stayed White. If they block me for me saying such comments, let it be so.

B. This is a very long and intellectual thread about between me and another Twitter user on me having consistency in opposing SJWing of characters. I do admit to not being familiar with the source material for many of the titles I rant against that get SJWed. That prev. sentence is often made clear when I rant to someone on Twitter about it. That is, I link to a tweet of mine that is part of a thread where I admit to not being familiar with the source material:

c. Actor Remy Hii posted a link for a trailer to "Spider-Man: Far From Home" here: instagram.com/p/BxIY59gHQ9k
I told him: "Brad Davis is White and should stay that way outside of cosplay. Sorry, the biracial bit with you being part-British doesn't work They only cast you as him for diversity points. If you were smart, you would have turned down that role, you SJW!" and "If the character is biracial from the start, get a same-raced biracial person who looks the part."
1. Remi the SJW tells me to delete my account!

2. I said similar comments on IG pages of or that tagged Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Anthony Mackie, and Tessa Thompson! I did similar shaming tagging them on Twitter. However, I did say "Give me credit for admitting there is a level of hypocrisy for me speaking out against such race-bends and sexual orientation-bends but I admittedly never really got into reading the OG comics." (twitter.com/Kadmos1/status/1356352135235989504).

3. I blocked Remy the SJW for him calling me an F-word face who didn't shame crap and to get off of his feed: twitter.com/RemyHii/status/1356449183801171972.
Was what I said racist? Yes. Well, I suppose about as racist as calling out a White person for knowingly playing a role that will become a Whitewash! Seriously, is it that hard for that SJW Remy to admit publicly that he was wrong to play Brad as he is the wrong person racially/semi-racially?!

4. I searched twitter.com/search?q=White%20(from%3ARemyHii)&src=typed_query&f=live:
There is a 7/8/2016 tweet about him upset that Marvel/Sony has made sure that Spidey is only ever White (twitter.com/RemyHii/status/751163359727218688).
Well, an 11/26/2014 tweet condemns the idea fact that Rooney Mara, a White lady, played a Whitewashed Tiger Lilly in that 2015 Peter Pan film "Pan" (twitter.com/RemyHii/status/537389821333737474).
i. Yep, I did a Twitter search for "White" through his account. He defends the idea of wanting Spidey to be non-White. At least I am condemning Whitewashing and Blackwashing.
II. When WB was making that Pan film, they considered Lupita Nyong’o, a Black actress, to paly Tiger Lilly. A Black woman playing a Native American woman is not good unless it was a Black Native American role. It is hypocrisy!
iii. twitter.com/Kadmos1/status/1356691147691724800 (Twitter thread of the above points)

f. I know that PoC are often given the short end of the stick in voice acting. If I was a voice actor auditioning for a character of any race, I would want to do it after various PoC auditioned. Alternatively, I would use social media connections to alert casting directors of PoC VA to say "Let them audition!" while also intending to audition myself. Even if the PoC couldn't audition, at least trying to bring awareness for opportunities helps.

i. Blacks in anime: twitter.com/ButWhyThoPC/status/1358774425513033730
butwhythopodcast.com/2021/02/08/anti-blackness-in-anime-loving-an-industry-that-doesnt-always-love-me/
The fact that there is a very small pop. of Black people in Japan. Of course, there are going to be Japanese people who are not as exposed to Black people. I don't deny that there anime does often stereotype Black people ("anti-Blackness") but I think that might come more out of cultural ignorance rather than intended view of "I hate Black people so let's depict them this way".! I wouldn't be surprised if you have the very rare cases of that quoted point happening in anime/manga.

As far as the Blackface claims, uh, could the writer be mistaking that with the ganguro?

butwhythopodcast.com/2020/02/13/10-black-women-in-anime-that-i-proudly-claim-made-me-feel-seen/
Uh, not all of those characters are actually Black. Just because a character is dark-skinned like the characters in the above link doesn't mean they are Black. Also, unless a character is in-show confirmed as being Black or of Black descent or the creator confirms that, that Black-looking characters is probably not Black.

j. Sure, I am fine with a ]Black person voicing an Asian character or White person voicing a Black character or vice versa to each (the issues of using stereotypical accents is another concern). However, it also makes sense for things like a person of Race X to voice a character of Race X or for a trans person to voice a trans/intersex character. However, it doesn't have to be that way exclusively. When it should be that a White VA should be voicing a Black character or vice versa is debatable. However, PoC VA should be afforded as many roles for voice acting as possible.

k. I am for more non-White VA getting more acting roles but not at the expense of them playing race-bent versions of established characters. No one should be voice acting an originally White but now Asian version of [name of character]. Sames goes with live-action. Black person playing a White Spidey or cosplaying as Spidey? Sure! A Black Spidey in the comics or in live-action or animation? No way!

Also, say that you have 2 established VA (one that is PoC and one that is White) both auditioning for the same role. Was the reason the casting director picked the VA because of racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, or the like? Not necessarily. To me, evidence that points such decisions were are things like the following examples: A history of choosing a VA that is [insert sociopolitical thing race, gender, orientation, or similar here] over a VA that is [insert some other race, gender, orientation, or similar here]. Another is a history of saying remarks that are racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, homophobia, etc. Now, whether or not such remarks are is/are sujbective at times.

Going with the PoC VA not getting enough work in anime and animation, well at least they are getting work. Compared to however long ago, they are arguably are getting more work than before. Sure, them getting even more work would help but at what point do you think they might say "I think we are well-represented by now! So, complaining about lack of representation has kind of losts it flavor!"?

Realistically, it will never be 50% White Americans VA in this country and 50% PoC Americans in this country! However, a lot higher frequency of casting PoC VA as PoC characters in shows that are written, produced, and directed by PoC people helps.

Something I don't get why some of these White VA voicing non-White characters are just now stepping down from the roles. They heard such complaints for so long so why now? Part of me thinks it is to pander to those BLM-type messages that are going on!

Caitlin Glass is a notable person who has cast gone out of her to cast PoC in PoC roles and LGBT VA in LGBTQIA-type roles. Of course, not every every LGBTQIA character in a show she has been the ADR director for will have an LGBTQIA VA voicing said character. Same goes with PoC characters being voiced by PoC VA. Now a casting director casting a PoC VA because said VA is the right fit vs. casting them because they are the same race, gender, and orientation of a character is a valid concern.

Sure, it is fine with voice acting for a VA to play a character of any race. However, the fact that minority VA still experience discrimination is concerning. While there are various types of discrimination or similar, some examples of discrimination or issues with the lack of having more representation can include the following:
-A minority VA might change their name to sound "more Anglo" on their resume so they could get mor ework.
-A minority VA being hired mainly for one-off or bit parts of minority characters and/or play minority who have stereotypical accent and stereotypical depictions of a minority.
-A lack of minorities being in animation.

l. Not being in the entertainment industry, I am not sure what the most practical steps are for this outside of the obvious suits for civil rights or being discriminated against. The fact that White actors/actresses get a huge chunk of the work as we are a White-dominant country is a true issue. Now, changing an established White character to be non-White doesn't help. That is just pandering.

m. Say 3 experienced PoC VA and 1 experienced White VA audition for a PoC character in a show that is written, directed, and produced by PoC and features mostly PoC characters. The casting director is PoC. How should the casting director decide who is the right fit for a PoC animated character in a manner that is less likely to have them experience the "You didn't cast me because I am PoC" card used against them? Casting a PoC va because the director deemed the VA the right for a PoC role vs. hiring a VA for a PoC character because the VA is a PoC has a blurred line.

n. Where such a change is justified: Now if the character is supposed to be Chinese in a comic book but they were drawn in a Whitewashed manner or a stereotypical Chinese manner (like a Fun Manchu-style drawing), then later on making them look more Chinese is fair game. Heck, that is where the newer version can be and likely is better than the original from a visual depiction standpoint

o. Say we have an original Western animation about the daily life of a Black family in Hollywood. The show is written, directed, and produced by Black or half-Black people. Most of the cast is Black. The casting director is Black. The characters would have varying types of Black people. This would include your stereotypical Black pimp or Black thug-type character. In such a situation, do you find it passable if other PoC V or a White person voices a Black character? Now, obviously it depends on the nature of the character, sure.

p. In terms of voice acting and at times live-action, it does make sense to have a trans person voice a trans character as often as possible though. Sames goes with a gay/bisexual person playing a gay/bisexual character. However, if a gay/bisexual person can play a straight person in either form of acting at times, the same applies in reverse.

q. Also, I do recognize when it comes to voicing a non-White character, having a VA that is non-White and that same race makes more sense. Given that a Black person's speech patterns and similar will vary from an Asian's, it makes sense to have a Black VA voice a Black character vs. an Asian and vice versa. However, at times an Asian voicing a White character or vice versa can work. It helps if the casting director, whatever their race is, has a strong understanding of voice patterns among various races.
a. A Black casting director hiring a Black VA to voice a Black character might generally make more sense to have vs. having a White casting director hiring a White VA to voice a Black character.

Note: I am not an experienced actor, so my points regarding the above carry less weight than if an experienced actor or actress were saying similar points to the above.

r. O.K, so there is a Marvel comic book love interest for Peter named Michele Gonzales. I have read that supposedly the MJ in the MCU is partially modeled after her. If that was the case, it was stupid to have the MCU character have the initials be "MJ". Now, is the Gonzales in the comics a Latina/Hispanic that is White or a PoC? If White, then Zendaya playing her is a Blackwashing of sorts. However, Michele's brother, Officer Vincent Gonzales, appears to be what one would call PoC. So, maybe MG is supposed to be a PoC. That doesn't justify the inspired version called Michelle Jones carrying the initial "MJ". So, I see this as technically being a partial Blackwash of sorts for the MCU "MJ"..

In the MCU, Ned Leeds seems to be physically and personality wise based off of Mile Morales' buddy, Ganke Lee. The character of Ned Leeds in the original comics is White. So, it seems that MCU was trying to pull a Asian-wash from one angle and using an already Asian. However, Ganke is Korean whereas the actor playing the MCU Ned is Filipino. While an argument can be made about Filipinos looking similar to Koreans in the eyes of some, that is still some what of an ethnic-bend of sorts. Now, I think it is more acceptable to have a Japanese or Chinese person play a Korean person because I think those two ethnicities have more of a shared history with Koreans than Filipinos do.

Let's not forget that while the Ultimate version of Nick Fury was modeled after Samuel L. Jackson, Fury from his inception was established as White.
1. So, all the 3 of the above cases for the MCU versions of said characters are race-bends of sorts.

Because Tilda Swinton is White, she should not have been cast as Ancient One. Because Valkyrie was established as a White blonde woman, Tessa Thompson should only be Val in cosplay or voice acting a White blonde Valk. Idris Elba being Black should bar him from playing Heimdall. Same goes with Sam L. Jackson playing Nick Fury. Doesn't matter if that Fury was based off of the SLJ-based Ultimate version of Fury. That is still Blackwashing. If SLJ was smart, he would have condemned the Blackwashing. Hogun should not be played by a Japanese guy.

Companies Blackwash because of so-called diversity and they know fans are irked by it. That is, they are doing to **** the fans off. Race-bending outside of mo-cap and voice acting is lazy. Race, orientation-, and ethnic-bending are lazy. Offended by this? Good.

This link shows an old comic book where Hogun (guy with the horned cap-thingy) is clear White or Caucasian. Now, there have been depictions of him looking Mongolian and he admitted does look that. However, he is clearly White/Caucasian: magazinesandmonsters.com/2014/02/21/ms15. In the MCU movies, a Japanese guy plays him. If that actor was smart and did do his research, he would have realized Hogun is White. However, he went with it. To me, that is a form of being an SJW. Likewise, Tilda Swinton would have been smart to decline playing the Ancient One because that character was established as a Tibetan guy.

Race-bent castings and racial harassment are both despicable. To me, a person that fits the ideals/role of the hero is a person that is the same race and ethnicity as that character. Yes, I am saying Batman should only be played by White guys. I am saying that Cyborg should only be played by Black guys. Sure, give minorities representation but use characters that are of that representation. I am not a fan of whitewash or blackwashing.
1. If Superman was created as a Black gay man, I would be saying the same type of arguments that I have made here. If a character in a book doesn't really have a skin-color description, race-bend away if need be.
2. If you think that is alright for a White character to be played by a Black person but not the other way around and that I am racist for not liking blackwashing, well, that is some double standards there.

Say we have comic book character that has always been a straight White male. A movie or TV version changes his race, gender, and orientation. To me, he should always be his established race, gender, and orientation and played by someone of that race, ethnicity, and gender. When I say that, this counts alternate universe versions. For example, Batman should always be a straight White guy in all adaptations and comic book versions. Changing him like that, to me, is just catering to being PC. Make a new character that is adherent to other audiences. For clarification, I do apply the above to both official and fan-made adaptations.

However, there are some loopholes. Here are 3 examples: a dark-colored orc from the LOTR franchise being played by a White person under layers of costume, make-up, and CGI effects. Likewise, if the character has a colorful skin, getting a mo-cap actor or actress then digitally painting them with that skin might be another exception.

On Superman's representation: In the comics, Superman was raised by a White American couple. Superman is usually portrayed as a straight White man. I don't care if it was an adaptation of some alternate universe version of Superman that is Black (even then, I think that is whack as I think he should always be White), I think Superman should remain a straight White male. If Superman was written as a gay Black character, I would say the same thing if he was to featured in an adaptation where he's a straight White male. The reason I bring up the sexuality is because DC has been emphasizing sexuality to several of their characters in the DC TV shows or movies the last few years.

Sure, I admit to have hardly ever reading Superman as a kid. Still, my point stands and I am not a fan of retcons (just look at the Narutoverse). However, that doesn’t stop me from wanting to see a movie that has an accurate depictions of the source materials! Staying faithful to the source material for the character’s physical appearance and personality should not be hard.

Outside of mo-cap or painting (think Gamora from the MCU), race-bending is stupid. Same goes with orientation-, ethnic-, and gender-bending (unless the earliest character version was an LGBT). Thus, keep Catwoman as a White woman with the same hair/eye colors as the original.

Only have the character be an LGBT if they were that from the very start. Since the Amazons of Greek myth had a close relationship that might be blurred between sisterly/familial and romance, making a bisexual version of Wonder Woman might be justified.

From when they first began Whitewashing characters in film/TV to present, Whitewashing should have never happened. Seriously, with all the racial controversies behind Whitwashing, I find it stupid that Hollywood directors and producers still justify Whitewashing. Heck, even Blackwashing is stupid. Tilda Swinton and Tessa Thompson were miscast in their respective MCU roles.

Also, criticizing the casting is not necessarily racist or sexist, you SJW! If one says “Tilda Swinton played a character that was a guy and Tibetan in the comics. She is a White woman, thus Tilda Swinton should not be playing that role”, I don’t see that as racist! Same goes for knocking on Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Marvel has so many PoC characters in their comics yet they decide to do such bends!

When you have an established character, I think it is important to stay as close to the source material as possible. This includes not race-, orientation-, gender-, or ethnic-bending said character or having an actor or actress that is not . If the work is an original work, injecting as much sociopolitical issues as possible is at the discretion of the creative forces.

If the source material was some ancient Chinese character who was gay from the start but many adaptations straight- and Whitewashed the character, have an gay/bisexual/pansexual Chinese person play them in the next adaptation but don't gender-bend that character.

A White person voicing a non-White person or vice versa can work though keeping an actor/actress of the same race and ethnicity if possible would be preferable.

I the earliest source material was a blonde-hair and blue-eyed straight White male in a comic book, all versions and adaptations of him including other comic book versions should be a straight White male though there is possible leeway on his derivative version's eyes and hair color.

s. In terms of diversity and original series, there is a time when SJWing is a problem. For example, say you have some historically-accutrate British period drama set in the 3rd century and there a lot of Black people, like almost half the cast. While Black people have lived in the UK for many centuries, I do question how many Black people lived in the U.K. in that time period. Even if there were a few thousand to 20,000, the fact that the population of the U.K. at time was likely 6-figures to over 1 million, most of them would probably have been White. Now, if said this period show had Black people in high ranks like a general, I do think that there could have been or were Black people in that area at that time having high ranks.

t. An original comic book series with the following notice: "This character or these characters will die in whatever issue number then get reincarnated as another race. As such, their reincarnated selves might have a differing personality". This is because you are letting the audience know from the get-go and are building up towards that".

u. On the whole race-bending and getting the right actor/actress for the role: It should be the right actor/actress of the race the character is. Now, if the character is of a race that is not real, then find the right actor/actress to mo-cap, wearing make-up (think Gamora from the MCU), or voice act said character.

v. Another common argument on I see is something like this: "Whitewashing that non-White character is bad because their race is a defining feature of them or is part of that makes that character who they are". Even though I rarely see this get mentioned, said people might even say "Making an LGBT character straight is bad because it is [-phobic term] and undermines a defining aspect of said character". However, I have occasionally those same type of people say something like "Just because this character is usu. portrayed as White, those are not things that define the character", "Just because this character is usu. portrayed as straight, that is not a defining feature of said character", and "That name is merely a mantle. A person of any gender could use that mantle".

1. O.K., using their logic, making a Black gay/bisexual/lesbian character into a White straight person or making a Black gay character into a White straight woman would be racist, sexist, and is anti-LGBT (namely something like transphobic). O.K., so if such things are defining aspects of a minority character, why doesn't examples like the following also apply: Making a straight and White character into a Black lesbian or a straight and White character into an Asian trans character?
2. News flash, you SJWS: heterophobia and racism against White people both exist, even though it is a lot less common than LGBT-phobia and racism against non-Whites.

w. Not SJWing but important: Now, while it is better to have a Chinese actor/actress play a Japanese character in a live-action movie than a White person, it would help if they got an actual Japanese person to play said Japanese character.

x. Say you have a White American character (confirmed as such by the director and/or writer) who was born/raised in Japan and Japanese is their first language. In an Eng. dub, would it make more sense to have an Asian-American VA voice that character or a White VA? You are the casting director. You listened to the auditions of 10 White VA and 10 non-White VA, with each VA having at least 5 years of anime dub experience.

The casting director, whatever their race is, listened to the auditions of various White and non-White VA (for the sake of this thread, 10 White VA and 10 non-White VA)

1. I have addressed how I am not a fan of race-bending established characters, be it live-action or animated. Well, if I saw a movie script that called for Whitewashing a character, I would fire the script-writer and the person planning to audition. Same goes for other race-bends.

Astur's Rebellion Creator Speaks On Why "Diversity" Discourse In Animation

If Hollywood puts black actors in roles originally portrayed by a white people, what’s to stop them from doing it the other way around?

Why white people have been complaining about black actors portraying an originally white character (only those whose cultural background isn't important to the storylines) when they portray characters of color whose cultural background is important?

Why is it still acceptable for white actors to play Native American characters in movies and on TV shows, when it is no longer acceptable (I hope) for them to play black or Asian characters?

Should non-white actors portray white historical figures in film? Why or why not?

Should the film White Chicks be banned because of Black actors using White face?

I watch captain marvel and wonder women~
captain marvel leave lil to none impression hmm she is op.... thats all~ as for wonder women tho she awespiring ehem I mean just like traditional hero which it gender happen to be female~

Charlie's Angel hmm the recent movie compared with previous one, it imo the new movie angel kinda bland? new trio angel start with different trait but during few scene later imo they same person who somehow have different face~ unlike previous movie that I can tell who is who~ new one it reek of female empowering thing to point if such thing happen on male empowerment this cat also wanna puke~

Ghostbusters, it funny cuz the gender reverse oh wait actually even gender not reverse this cat still think it funny~ rate as comedy and cuz comedy meh not really mind it~
