UNTITLED POEM #22

There's a light bulb in the patio
Old and probably defective
It flickers in desperation
Wanting to be changed
To be replaced by a far better version of itself
One more bright
One more useful
One that isn't simply a waste of electricity
But no one notices it
Even as it lights the darkest nights with its dim light
No one notices it
Because it is in the patio
Everyone inside thinks it's still working fine
Working properly
They are wrong
The thick walls and the screen doors block their view
And in time they forgot
About the light bulb in the patio
And the dim light it gives.

No one changed the light,
It broke

Time to call the repairman. "Hey! Male/female who lives in the house! Go and fix the light in the patio!" :blobcat_rawr::blob_catflip::blobnom:
      Good poem.

Guess I'm trying to find some allegorical meaning in your light bulb?

Humans are different. Ever played with kaleidoscope? Give it a light shake and the glass bits inside will rearrange themselves and reveal new designs. Our minds are like the kaleidoscope which only we can play with. There's no need for anyone else to notice them.
