The first time I tried a Etrian Odyssey was when I'm still playing with emulator. At that time didn't understand how it work but I fell in love by the exploration system. I try to search games with that kind of exploration system but most of them became soon boring. Until I found Touhou Labyrith but that is the next story.

I played many games which challange my gamer's soul. I never care about graphic. My soul is a hit and be hitten as tactician. Challenge myself to try make bunch of units survive through a nasty enviloment.

Is that why I love Etrian Odyssey?

Do you know what it's the spirit of adventurer? Doing a lot of quest? Killing a lot of monsters? Finding beautiful place? Be the strongest? No, it's challenge the unknown.

What there is within this dungeon? A terrific monster? A wonderful treasure? Just a bunch of weak monster? Trashy treasures? Can I kill that monster? Can I reach that treasure? I want to find out! And after you explore every corner of that dungeon, you prepare yourself to explore the next place, raising your expectation of what you can find.

That is why I love playing Etrian Odyssey. Every dungeon are totally a new enviloment with different kind of monsters with different way to fight them. As you improve your team as the enemies became nastier.

But the game is not without issue.

If you don't know how the skill work and how much you gain from spending point on it, you fell on many noob trap! Why there a skill that by spending 10 points on it you improve your preemtive strike by only 3%! I can use that point better on improve other skilll that actually raise my damage or my skill variety

Why on one of entrance of two-entrance-dungeon have a tornadoes and snow that seem like they are blocking your way but they aren't?! And that it's the main entrance! The side entrance haven't that shit!

Teehee, it does seem like a nice game, makes me remember Class of Heroes, though I didn't play that one too much, but it's what the system looks like to me.

I wish I had time to play it more... *cwies*
