Later, when MC went with ML to ML's homeland, she told FAN that if she had any problem to ask for MC's brother's help. In the end FAN, ended up with MC's elder brother. @Eis answered the questions beautifully, I'll just add 2 small tidbits: 1. Feng An Ning turned out to be a really good-hearted girl. She was very devoted to the MC and admired her a lot. I was glad that she would eventually become Spoiler: her fate the MC's sister-in-law. 2. When the MC first met SML again after the time skip (when she returned with her family to the capital) she didn't recognize him because he wasn't the white dumpling from her memory anymore. He had lost weight and turned out to be a beautiful little fellow. He still remained the MC's greatest admirer, and later almost caused his elder brother to be forcibly married to the MC, lol. He was an absolute cutie throughout the novel.

I honestly can't remember. Anyway... Then the MC reassured him that she hadn't forgotten him, and SML cheered up immediately. I don't remember any more details about the scene, like the exact words exchanged, and who else was present (maybe SML's brother?). I do think I recall that it happened on a crowded street (in the marketplace?) not long after the MC returned to the capital after the time skip.

Spoiler: Mei Furen She ended up first in ML's homeland. The corrupted influential families plotted to kill the Emperor at the hunting event, Emperor also tried to got rid of them w/o ML's knowledge, ML rushed to save the Emperor and got critically injured & poisoned. The bad guy didn't want ML to die, they only wanted the Emperor's death (since they couldn't control him). So, the PM family (one of the family who plotted it), told Mei Furen to pretended to found the antidote and gave it to ML. Mei Furen tried to seduce ML in the beginning but soon gave up the idea as she saw that she couldn't manipulate him. The PM's family only have one child (a cripple shu son), so the PM furen told everyone that Mei Furen was her lost daughter. There was a concubine that was the daughter of the influential general, he was the counterpart of Shen family in MC's homeland, but different from the loyal Shen Xin, he was corrupted and eyeing at the throne. Previously that concubine caused the empress to miscarriage, then the empress was unable to get pregnant again. Since then, the emperor gave a contraceptive soup to every concubines of his. (since the Empress was unable to get pregnant, he didn't allow any of the concubine to get pregnant.) Everyone thought that the Emperor was infertile, so there was no fight in the harem and no family was eager to send their daughter in. But the evil concubine managed to skipped her contraceptive soup and got pregnant. Since then, many families rushed to send their daughter in, including the PM. Mei Furen secretly met with the evil concubine to ask for her cooperation as she was about to be sent to the harem too. But the evil concubine had a cheap personality, so she refused, they fought and Mei furen accidentally pushed the pregnant concubine down the stairs. The evil concubine died. Mei Furen told the cripple shu son to lie and accused MC of pushing the evil concubine, but MC managed to prove her innocence. It wasn't pursued deeper, as the general family still need PM cooperation and the Emperor planned to got rid of the baby anyway. MC had told ML about her past life and her hatred toward Mei Furen. Mei Furen also plotted once to kill MC, so ML plotted a revenge against Mei Furen. Mei Furen realised that PM family was only used her as a tool. I forgot the event, but I think that they still forcing her to enter the harem, she saw that it was meaningless as the Emperor didn't allow any of the harem to be pregnant, so she planned her escape. To be able to escape, she met with her former fiance (a fat lustful merchant son) and seduced him to help her. To make it real, she also had to have sex with him. She then escape, bringing a secret important info about ML's country hidden in PM's study. ML ordered his ninja to switch the content with the fake secret military formation and let her go to MC's homeland. She later met the jerk Emperor (MC's previous husband) and became his beloved concubine (I guess he didn't realised that she was not a virgin LOL). He used the fake formation and lose badly against ML. He thought that Mei Furen was a spy sent by ML. He imprisoned Mei Furen and branded her face (since it was her most important asset). She was continuously got tortured. Then later he also cut her limbs. In the end, I think she died (was it suicide or infection, I forgot...).

Spoiler: The Princess The Princess was obsessed with Rui Wang (ML), and it didn't help that Rui Wang showed his blatant favouritism toward Shen Miao, the princess kept bothering Shen Miao. The jerk 9th prince (MC's ex in past) tried to ally with them, so he sent 2 of his underling (ML's stepbros, Xie's shu siblings) to serve the princess. The princess ordered them to taint Shen Miao's reputation. The stupid siblings kidnapped Shen Miao and her maternal cousin when she went shopping with FAN, the cousin was released but not before heavily stabbed. The princess ordered the stupid brothers to sell Shen Miao to the lowest and cheapest brothel, but as soon as Shen family knew that Shen Miao was missing, the entire capital was under heavy guard by the Shen family, so the stupid brothers couldn't transport Shen Miao anywhere. Shen Miao was kept in Xie's secret dungeon, it was built by the Xie stupid brothers and afterwards they killed all of the builders, so they claimed that no body know about it, including Xie marquess and ML. There was a party in palace, one of the stupid brother (I think it was the older one) came with his father. The other one guarded Shen Miao, then he tried to rape her. He ripped her clothes and groped her. ML arrived in time and revealed his identity. This one brother tried to blackmail ML about his identity, but Shen Miao knew that the moment ML revealed his identity, ML never planned to let this brother alive. ML killed him and preserved his body. Then later ML faked the already died brother's writing (with the secret code that only those stupid brothers knew). It was written that the died brother kept Shen Miao somewhere else and proposed a meeting near the lake. The princess and the other brother came. ML killed both of them then posed them (also with the earlier died brother) like they were having some 3P and displayed it in the lake. At the beginning, the people thought that it was just some ero ice sculpture, but SMF (not him, but the one that used to like Shen Yue and challanged Shen Miao to compete in archery, only to lose miserably) recognised who they were, soon after the area was closed. Spoiler: The Prince The 9th prince (MC's ex) hinted to the neighbouring prince that his sister, the princess was killed by ML to make the prince allied with him. Then 9th prince tried to manipulate crown prince into taking Shen Miao as concubine (side princess, ce fei). Bc the Shen firmly refused, 9th prince did some plot with the neighbouring prince's participation. He told the neighbouring prince to ask for Shen MIao's hand in marriage. Then the crown prince will offer to marry Shen Miao, and Shen Xin would be grateful to the crown prince, bc Shen Miao wouldn't be marry to faraway land. Then they invited Shen Miao to some valley (I think it was the crown princess who invited her). Shen MIao knew it was a trick, so she staged a carriage incident, where they "accidentally" hit "someone" and "generously" help the victims. Many pedestrians witnessed it (as an alibi for Shen Miao later) and praised Shen Miao. Meanwhile, the neighbouring prince was alone, he told his underling to wait at the foot of the valley. ML had falsified their letter to make the neighbouring prince came earlier. One of ML's subordinate was proficient in masquerading. He masqueraded as the crown prince and stabbed the neighbouring prince to death. Before died, the neighbouring prince called the crown prince's name and cursed him. The crown prince who came with 9th prince later heard the neighbouring prince called his name and rushed forward. Not long after, the neighbouring prince's underlings came and found out their prince has died. Because the prince was cursing and called the crown prince's name before death, they accused the crown prince of killing the neighbouring prince. Later the emperor had no choice than to punished the crown prince by house arrested him. It was a lighter punishment and was meant to protect him against the assassin from the neighbouring country. But the Empress and the crown prince didn't get it. Later the crown prince died. I forgot how, I think it was either the assassin from the neighbouring country or ML's. @Sparkleme1110 Mei Furen was 9th prince (MC's ex)'s beloved concubine. She appeared in the beginning of the chapter as her son was made the crown prince and she brought 2 of MC's cousin, taunted MC and executed MC.

Thanks for all the spoilers! It has prompted me to start the novel. I'm glad she does not have any super powers but uses her knowledge of her past life to seek revenge. Oh and let's not forget about the doting ML. A few questions for clarification since I'm a new reader to Chinese novels, ML = Male Lead, MC = Main Character but used to refer to the female lead correct? Also, are the raws available online?

I don't remember the exact chapter but the event begin at chapter 70 at her step grandma b'day. Spoiler: The Archery Competition So the guy who had a crush on her cousin shamelessly challenged Shen Miao to an archery competition where one would stand with an apple on the head, while the other would shoot it. The shooter would win if they accurately shot the apple or if the one holding the target got scared. The guy began first. He was shooting arrows around Shen Miao, but she was unshaken, as in the previous life, she was used to this kind of shooting game by the neighbouring princess. Then it was her turn. The guy wanted to refusd because he knew that Shen Miao hadn't learned any archery skill. But after arguments and taunting, he stood on the other side. Shen Miao behaved like she didn't know any archery and begin shooting. On the last arrow, it was headed to his head, he got scared and crouched down, but Shen Miao managed to shoot the apple, so she won. But then ML's 2 stupid step brothers wanted to make name for themselves and challenged Shen Miao. Previously, she only won bc the guy had underestimated her, but now that those 2 brothers knew her skill, she knew it was difficult for her to win. Then ML came and challenged his 2 stupid stepbrother instead. They wanted to refused, but he taunted them for only dare to challenged a woman but not him. In the end, they agreed, competed and got humiliated by ML. This was related to @Jade_xx question Spoiler: After the Competition Spoiler: A pervert prince There was a pervert prince who came. His previous wives died under his hands, but since he was very favoured by the Emperor, no body could opposed him. He attracted to Shen Miao bc of her performance at the competition. Also because he dislike Shen Miao's father. He had agreement with Shen Miao's 2nd aunt in a plot to force her to be married to him. The 2nd aunt took Shen Miao and the eldest cousin to a temple where she plotted to get Shen Miao raped by the pervert prince. Shen Miao knew about it. First, she asked to be placed in a room beside the 2nd aunt. The eldest cousin's room was quite far away. But Shen Miao knew about her plot, so at night, she knocked her cousin down, and told her bodyguard to took the cousin into her room. So the cousin got raped instead, and the 2nd aunt "calmly" listened to the sound of her own daughter being raped and tortured. Spoiler: The Eldest Cousin She got mentally unbalance. The 2nd aunt still hasn't let go of her ambition. The 2nd uncle wanted to get rid of his now useless daughter by marrying her to someone of low status. But then there was a proposal from a decent noble family for Shen Miao. The 2nd aunt had a plan on her own. She accepted the proposal for Shen Miao and intended to switch the bride. (Shen Miao for the low status groom, and her own daughter for the noble groom). Shen Miao refused to accept to marry, so in the end, 2nd aunt and the stepgrandma locked and punish her to kneel in the ancestral hall. But Shen Miao was very calm bc she knew that her father would came soon. To show his filial respect, her father secretly planned to go home 1 month earlier, exactly at the step-grandma b'day. Just before they arrived, Shen Miao burned down the ancestral hall. The evil step family couldn't rush to rescue her because previously they announced that Shen Miao didn't attend the party bc of illness. Shen Miao had her maids escaped and told them to scream for help. As the father came home and asked for Shen Miao, the step family stunned and couldn't say a word. Then Feng An Ning was the only guest that brave enough to came and told the father to rushed and save Shen Miao bc previously all of guests had heard the scream, but nobody dared to tell the father. Inside the ancestral hall, ML actually came and surprised to see Shen Miao burned down the building on her own. He offered to rescue her out, but Shen Miao refused and stayed. She also burned one of her hand to make it real then when the timing was right, she went out. Her parents and her brother witnessed her out of the building and before she fainted she told her father that she didn't want to marry.
