    Japanese MC, from modern times it seems, wakes up on a drifting space frigate. There are a few long decayed bodies around, signs that large portion of the ship, including the engine, have been detached, and only companion is a sphere bot with a twisted personality.
    Add to that, that to learn the skills to save his own ass, he has to overwrite other memories.

    But what if the missing memories were connected to his personality, if he lost his love of porn, or his anime knowledge, would he still have a reason to find Earth, or remain with his friends...?

    at this point in the story, that is doubtful. he'll probably start losing more crucial memories later tho.

    He lost his native language in the first couple chapters, he may start losing knowledge of his home soon too, if he hasn't already. He may find the "Fallout" wasteland that is Earth, and not realize it's different from when he was there....

    maybe the whole plot of the novel is to slowly lose the reason of wanting to go back and to accept what's new.

    Sucks that the technology hasn't evolved to the point where you only need to lose one batch of memories, to install a storage for future data dumps.

    Anyone get the feeling Koume is a WIND, or the ship Tarou woke up on originally, maybe the missing pieces and their programming went on to become the WIND the Empire knows now...?
