    Maybe it got a massive amount of load requests all at once so it activated Cloudflare as an automatic response. It seems like it's off already, at least for me.

    I doubt it. NU has been given 503 alerts. Which represents either two things. Out of those two, 1 is most likely:

    Too many visitors.

    When too many people are visiting a site, the server gets overloaded and people are provided with an 503 error.

    NU has needed to have their server upgraded before over the course of a few months. it is getting very popular and is needed to cope with the number of users.

    I guess so. I recall when he just upgraded. So, it's surprising, though I ran into the same problem.

    I upgraded for JFB, and still couldn't handle the peak moments. Like when we released novels with high amounts of readers.

    ... I'm confused by the OP. Cloudflare kicks in to protect the server. It's never going to be the site you get unless the server is being smooshed. Why the server's being smooshed is irrelevant to cloudflare. It's like being mad at the ambulance because they're always the thing that pops up when people get hurt.
