If so, Qidian wouldn't dig their hole by saying this on a public forum. Maybe it's like Disney back then where the actress can't work under anyone else except Disney. Why would I need to know the content of the contract, Qidian is a huge company, they know what they do.

 

Does this will be a thing now? Some people translate to share the novel to the one that did not know it.

No incentive to gain.

Almost all the money gain in such large scale translator group goes to the web mantain. Server host. Addition plugin. Web pay.

Does they gain money? Yes. But not that big.

Now... the donations given "unconditionally" to the translator to motivate them. They are not "asking" for it.

They are not "worker". Just "fans" that want to do "share" the work of our beloved author.

The recent pay translator to get better quality translation start when... too lazy to keep going. I already start reading since 2008... lots of shit happened to this industry...

When it's WW vs Qidian, honestly I trust WW. They made this scene, RWX quit his job. Qidian didn't show up until it was running smoothly and they smelled money. This is just a money and translator grab. #BOYCOTTQidian

I literally just created this account to say: "Quidiam, I am sorry, but you should clarify things more. Else you'd just have lost enough face that if you'd give it to the various Chinese novel MCs all novels would no longer have any plot. Also: FUCK YOU!"

The parties they accepted did not have a license. They don't have to announce it, but it actually is unethical business practice to be violating the copyrights of someone you're in a partnership with without informing them beforehand, especially when said action essentially sabotaged their negotiations with another party.

 

That will not stop from anothe ww to show up. History dude.

Why would I hire a translator? Just because I'm rich? I'm not rich, I'm just a dude with a job. I can pay for the chapter, but not the cost of translator

Because you start your assumption that WW didn't forewarn Qidian about the 11 new novels. Which turn out to be false, as mentioned in the link @bookwormer has provided which is WW official reply for this thread.
